SMART VALVED HOLDING CHAMBER
A medication delivery system having a holding chamber capable of delivering dosages of medicament from a metered dose inhaler. The holding chamber includes an actuator detector, flow detector and display. In another embodiment, a medication delivery system includes a holding chamber having an input and an output end, a metered dose inhaler operably coupled to the input end of the holding chamber, and a metered dose inhaler identifier associated with the holding chamber and operable to identify the metered dose inhaler coupled to the holding chamber.
Injection System
The present invention provides apparatus and systems for enabling and monitoring injection of medicinal fluids into a subject. The invention includes a housing for a prefilled syringe, the housing incorporating means for generating and sending signals as parts of the syringe cooperate to deliver the fluids. The signals may be transmitted from a transmitter on the housing as radiowaves to a receiver, which may be conveniently located on a spaced device, such as a mobile phone. The mobile phone or other receiving device incorporates computer software to receive, store the signals from the transmitter as a record of the injection process. The computer software may include information about the medicine, the injection process, and other information relevant to a treatment regime. In some cases, the receiving device may transmit information stored by the computer software for storage and analysis.
Diagnostic Transceiver Assembly
A diagnostic transceiver assembly includes a diagnostic unit that may be implanted into a human body. The diagnostic unit monitors physiological functions of the human body to include heart rate and blood serum levels. The diagnostic unit generates a diagnostic sequence when the diagnostic unit detects blood serum levels outside of a trigger ratio. A dispensing unit may be implanted into the human body. The dispensing unit is in fluid communication with the human circulatory system. The dispensing unit contains insulin. The dispensing unit releases a measured amount of the insulin into the human circulatory system in response to the diagnostic sequence.
Medical device having capacitive coupling communication and energy harvesting
Provided is a wearable, self-contained drug infusion or medical device capable of communicating with a host controller or other external devices via a personal area network (PAN). The medical device utilizes a PAN transceiver for communication with other devices in contact with a user's body, such as a physiological sensor or host controller, by propagating a current across the user's body via capacitive coupling. The wearable nature of the medical device and the low power requirements of the PAN communication system enable the medical device to utilize alternative energy harvesting techniques for powering the device. The medical device preferably utilizes thermal, kinetic and other energy harvesting techniques for capturing energy from the user and the environment during normal use of the medical device. A system power distribution unit is provided for managing the harvested energy and selectively supplying power to the medical device during system operation.
MECHANICAL VENTILATOR
The present disclosure describes a ventilator. The ventilator includes tubing configured to receive an input gas and a flow outlet airline in fluid communication with the tubing. The flow outlet airline includes an airline outlet, and the flow outlet airline is configured to supply an output gas to a user via the airline outlet. The ventilator includes an aerosol generator in fluid communication with the flow outlet airline. The aerosol generator is configured to receive an input liquid through an inlet tube and transform the liquid input into an aerosol. The ventilator further includes a breath detection airline including an airline inlet, wherein the airline inlet is separated from the airline outlet of the flow outlet airline, and configured to receive breathing gas from the user during exhalation by the user via the airline inlet. A method of supplying respiratory gas containing an aerosol is disclosed.
ULTRASOUND DRIVEN MXENE HYDROGEL ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATOR AND METHOD
An electrical power generator includes an M-gel layer that includes MXene and a hydrogel, first and second flexible layers that sandwich the M-gel layer so that the M-gel layer is sealed from an ambient, and a single terminal electrically connected to the M-gel layer. The M-gel layer is configured to transform acoustic energy into electrical energy.
