MODULAR MONITORING AND VENTILATION SYSTEM

A modular monitoring and ventilation system includes a standalone monitor unit for monitoring patient-related parameters that are indicative of the physiological status of a patient, which receives at least one signal indicative of such a patient-related parameter from at least one sensor and that displays information related to that signal on a display, and a standalone, portable pneumatic unit for ventilatory treatment of a patient by supplying breathing gas to the patient. The monitor unit and the pneumatic unit are able to placed in a paired state in which they are communicatively connected to each other for information exchange, and in which those units cooperate to provide ventilatory treatment to the patient, with operation of the portable pneumatic unit being controlled based on the signal that is indicative of the monitored patient-related parameter, received by the monitor unit from the at least one sensor.

The invention relates to an injection device which includes a handle and a guard which together enclose a movable cartridge which can contain liquid material to be injected, and further enclose a movable injector that includes a needle, the needle being attached to a housing where the housing is attached to the cartridge, the device also including a delivery mechanism whereby the needle is moved from a retracted to an extended position, and independently the volume of the chamber may be adjusted to expel the contents thereof through the needle and into a subject in need thereof. The injection device may be communicatively connected to a control unit so as to provide a dermal injection system.

Medical treatment apparatus and water reservoir for same

A water reservoir includes a water reservoir base configured to hold a volume of water to be used for humidification of pressurized breathable air, a water reservoir lid connected to the water reservoir base, and a compressible resilient portion configured to seal between the water reservoir base and the water reservoir lid. The base and the lid are movable relative to one another when connected whilst maintaining sealing therebetween due to the compressible resilient portion. A retainer is configured to secure the water reservoir to a water reservoir dock, and has a protrusion or recess to releasably engage one another when the water reservoir is received in the dock, with a reaction force to compression of the compressible resilient portion urging the protrusion and the recess into engagement with one another.

An apparatus, system and method for regulating fluid flow are disclosed. An apparatus for infusing fluid into a patient includes a housing, a tube-contact member, a rotating arm, and a tube-retention cover. The housing has an opening on a front side of the housing. The opening is sized to receive a drip chamber having an inlet tube and an outlet tube. The tube-contact member contacts one of the inlet tube and the output tube of the drip chamber when inserted into the opening. The rotating arm is coupled to the tube-contact member and is configured to rotate along an axis. The tube-retention cover is configured to close when the drip chamber is initially loaded into the opening.
