Method for operating a device having a speaker so as to prevent unexpected audio output
A method for operating an electronic device comprising a processing unit and a speaker is disclosed. The method comprises the following acts, performed by the processing unit: when detecting that a process implying audio output from the speaker is to be performed, determining (a) that the user is in a quiet environment; and performing (h) the process with a reduced level of audio output from the speaker.
PARAMETER SETTING DEVICE AND PARAMETER SETTING METHOD
A parameter setting device includes an operator, a scale, a receptor, and a controller. The operator receives parameter changing operation from a user. The scale indicates a reference position of the operator. The receptor receives instructions of turning on a calibration mode. The controller moves the operator to the reference position, when receiving the instructions of turning on the calibration mode.
Engine
An engine includes a cylinder head, a wire assembly including multiple wire harnesses and a protector that holds the wire harnesses together, a sound absorber, and an engine cover. The engine cover is attached to the cylinder head in a state in which the wire assembly and the sound absorber are held between the cylinder head and the engine cover to elastically deform the sound absorber. The protector is held in a state of being pressed against the cylinder head by a restoring force of the sound absorber. The sound absorber includes a contact region pressed against the protector. The sound absorber includes an engagement portion located at an edge of the contact region. The engagement portion is thicker than the thickness of the contact region. The engagement portion is adjacent to a side surface of the protector.
Audio device, audio system, and volume value control method
An audio device includes an amplifier having a volume control circuit, a communication circuit configured to communicate with a host apparatus, a processor, and a memory having stored thereon instructions executable by the processor to cause the audio device to perform: setting a volume value in the volume control circuit; receiving, from the host apparatus through the communication circuit, an instruction value indicating a volume value to be set in the volume control circuit; comparing the received instruction value with a set value that is a volume value set in the volume control circuit; and sending an instruction signal based on a comparison result to the host apparatus through the communication circuit.

Volume Limit
An example first playback device includes programming to perform functions including: (1) storing an active volume state variable in memory, wherein the active volume state variable corresponds to a current playback volume; (2) storing a volume limit state variable in memory, wherein the volume limit state variable corresponds to a playback volume limit of the first playback device; (3) detecting a command to begin playback of media at a proposed playback volume different from the current playback volume; (4) based on comparing (i) the playback volume limit and (ii) the proposed playback volume, selecting a startup playback volume; (5) playing back media at the startup playback volume; and (6) causing at least a second playback

Volume Limit
An example playback device includes programming to perform functions including storing an active volume state variable in memory, where the active volume state variable corresponds to a current playback volume. The functions also include storing a volume limit state variable in memory, where the volume limit state variable corresponds to a playback volume limit of the playback device. The functions also include receiving, from a control device, a command to begin playback of media, and determining whether the control device is located in a second zone of the media playback system different from the first zone. Based on whether the control device is located in the second zone of the media playback system different from the first zone, the functions include selecting a startup playback volume to be one of the current playback volume or the playback volume limit, and then playing back media at the startup playback volume.
