Described herein is a system and method for substantially automatically establishing secure communications between similar audio devices, comprising: determining that at least two of two or more audio devices in an audio distribution network are similar audio devices, wherein the similar audio devices are manufactured by the same manufacturer and share a common secure communications protocol; designating one of the at least two or more similar audio devices as the controlling audio device; and issuing communications protocols by the controlling device to the remaining similar audio device, wherein the communications protocols are secure communications protocols, and wherein communications between the similar devices from therein after use the secure communications protocols.

AUDIO SYSTEM EQUALIZATION BASED ON TYPE OF AUDIO BEING BROADCAST
20230163742 · 2023-05-25 · ·

Disclosed herein is a system and method for optimizing audio equalization settings based on the type of music being broadcast, comprising: receiving audio at a processing device; performing a frequency analysis of the received audio, to determine a plurality of frequency components and associated amplitudes of the frequency components of the received audio; generating a spectral plot of the received audio based on the performed frequency analysis of the received audio, wherein the spectral plot comprises an x axis that represents relative amplitude and a y axis that represents frequency components of the received audio; comparing the spectral plot of the received audio to each of a plurality of different predetermined spectral plots; matching the spectral plot of the received audio to at least one of a plurality of different predetermined spectral plots; retrieving a predetermined equalizer settings file that corresponds to the at least one of the matched predetermined spectral plots, wherein the predetermined equalizer settings file comprises a plurality of relative amplitude settings for each of a plurality of frequency bands; and applying the retrieved predetermined equalizer settings to an equalizer that processes the received audio according to the predetermined equalizer settings in the predetermined equalizer settings file.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ANALOG SIGNALS ON AN AMPLIFIER INPUT AND GATING THE SAME
20230163773 · 2023-05-25 · ·

A system and method are described herein for gating at least one input to an amplifier, the method comprising: measuring at least one audio analog signal level received by the amplifier at a first input; determining whether the received at least one audio analog signal level is below a predetermined threshold level; and gating the first input such that the received audio analog signal level is ignored in further processing by the amplifier.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONVERTING AUDIO-TO-TEXT WITH DELAY

Described herein is a system and method for generating text caption information for an audio-video (AV) signal, the systems and method comprising: receiving an AV signal; extracting audio from the AV signal to form an extracted audio signal; time stamping both the extracted audio signal and the received AV signal; partitioning the extracted audio signal into a first predetermined duration segment of extracted audio signal; generating text captions from the partitioned extracted audio signal over a first duration, and converting the same to a video text signal, with the same time stamp as the extracted audio signal and received AV signal; delaying the received AV signal by an amount of time substantially similar to the first duration; combining the time stamped video text signal and the delayed time stamped received AV signal based on the time stamps; and outputting the combined time stamped video text signal and the time stamped received AV signal to a display.

VOLUME CONTROLLER WITH AUTOMATIC COMPENSATION
20230161547 · 2023-05-25 · ·

A system and method are disclosed herein for automatically adjusting an output level of audio in an audio playback network, the method comprising: selecting an audio source to be received into, and output from, an audio playback network; setting a broadcast output volume level of the selected audio source; receiving new audio from any one of a plurality of audio sources, and broadcasting the new audio from one or more loudspeakers; substantially continuously measuring a volume level of the broadcast new audio; and correcting the broadcast new audio to match the set broadcast output volume level.

SOUND PROCESSING APPARATUS AND SOUND PROCESSING SYSTEM

The present technology relates to a sound processing apparatus and a sound processing system for enabling more stable localization of a sound image.

A virtual speaker is assumed to exist on the lower side among the sides of a tetragon having its corners formed with four speakers surrounding a target sound image position on a spherical plane. Three-dimensional VBAP is performed with respect to the virtual speaker and the two speakers located at the upper right and the upper left, to calculate gains of the two speakers at the upper right and the upper left and the virtual speaker, the gains being to be used for fixing a sound image at the target sound image position. Further, two-dimensional VBAP is performed with respect to the lower right and lower left speakers, to calculate gains of the lower right and lower left speakers, the gains being to be used for fixing a sound image at the position of the virtual speaker. The values obtained by multiplying these gains by the gain of the virtual speaker are set as the gains of the lower right and lower left speakers for fixing a sound image at the target sound image position. The present technology can be applied to sound processing apparatuses.
