Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating strictures in body lumens and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent.

A medication delivery apparatus and system for the application of a medical agent to a treatment site, such as an airway, and method for use of same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the medication delivery apparatus and system, a reservoir supplies a medical agent to a lower chamber of a housing wherein an ultrasonic transducer applies ultrasonic energy thereto, thereby nebulizing the medical agent. A control valve is interposed between a source of positive pressure air and an upper chamber of the housing to selectively apply positive air pressure to the upper chamber. Upon the application of positive air pressure, the airflow delivers the nebulized medical agent to a target location, such as the airway.

A wearable apparatus designed to assist an anesthesia provider in maintaining a patent airway comprises an elastomeric mandible harness with projecting members, elastic straps and connecting rings. The mandible harness is designed to hold the patient in a “jaw-thrust” position during surgical procedures. The apparatus attaches to a standard operating-table frame.

The present invention discloses a device for removing sputum scabs of a respiratory tract, comprising an outer housing. A fluid hole is designed on a removing part at the front end of the outer housing, and the fluid hole is respectively communicated with a liquid pump and an air pump, so that the device can be extended into the lower respiratory tract of the patient during use. Then, the sputum scabs attached to the inner wall of the respiratory tract can be softened and removed by alternately spraying liquid and gas from the fluid hole, and the removed sputum scabs can be sucked out through negative pressure holes, so as to prevent the scabs of the secretions of the lower respiratory tract from blocking the tracheae.

Some implementations of the disclosure are directed to a balloon dilator system, including: a hand piece including an attachment mechanism for removably coupling to a proximal end of an endoscope; a hole for inserting a distal end of a balloon catheter including an inflatable balloon; and a hollow tube distally extending from the hand piece, a proximal end of the hollow tube configured to receive the balloon catheter inserted through the hole and advance the balloon catheter such that the distal of the balloon catheter exits a distal end of the hollow tube. A device adapted for maintaining an airway in a patient, the device comprising a mask, the mask adapted to form a seal around the laryngeal inlet when properly inserted into a patient and an airway tube for providing ventilation gases and/or anaesthetic gases through the mask and to the lungs of the patient when the device is properly inserted in a patient, wherein the airway tube has a first proximal opening and a second proximal opening.

The connection unit (20) includes a patient-side connection piece (2), a device-side connection piece (1), a port piece (3) and a central piece (8), which provides a tube with a curved tube segment and is connected with a fluid-tight connection to the two connection pieces (1, 2). The port piece (3) includes a straight tube segment and a bent surface (membrane) with a bent surface and with a passage opening. The port piece (3) is inserted into a receiving opening of the central piece (8). The bent surface of the port piece (3) forms a part of a wall of the curved tube segment. The straight tube segment of the port piece (3) and the central piece (8) provide a straight tube, which is interrupted by the passage opening. An additional device (40) is insertable through the straight tube segment and through the passage opening into the provided tube.
