Sanitizing steam room
A steam room for sanitizing people's external body parts and clothes, but also their breathing airways and respiratory tract, to reduce viral load and thereby mitigate the likelihood of spreading or contracting Viral contamination. Steam room has precise temperature and relative humidity control of a heater and mist generator, in which the mist water molecules contain an accurate concentration of a Chlorine or Ethanol based disinfectant, so that the water vapor or combined air/water mixture in the room that comes in contact with the sanitized person reaches but does not surpass the globally permitted concentration of free Chlorine for swimming pools, dressing rooms and spas. The room has thermally isolated quick doors allowing rapid entry and exit, and the signaling to guide the person when to enter, stay and breath, and exit, in the most suitable timing profile for the application.
BALLOON CATHETER SYRINGE FOR OBTAINING NOMINAL INFLATION PRESSURE AND DEFLATION VACUUM
Various aspects of methods, systems, and use cases may be used to inflate a balloon catheter using a syringe. The syringe may include a channel portion shaped to create a channel, and a plunger, for example including an inserted end and a free end, which when inserted in the channel to place the inserted end at a plunger starting position, causes a starting pressure to be applied to the balloon catheter. In an example, the channel portion or the plunger includes at least one visual indicia indicating the plunger starting position, the plunger starting position located along an insertion axis (e.g., of the channel portion and the plunger).
Methods of treating a lung
A method for treating the lung dining an acute episode of reversible chronic obstructive pulmonary disease such as an asthma attack. The method comprises transferring energy to an airway wall of an airway such that a diameter of the airway is increased. The energy may be transferred to the airway wall prior to, during or after an asthma attack. The energy may be transferred in an amount sufficient to temporarily or permanently increase the diameter of the airway. The method may be performed while the airway is open, closed or partially closed.
Electrospray device
The invention related to a device (1) for spraying charged droplets of a liquid towards a target along a spraying direction, comprising: a reservoir (10) for storing the liquid (L), a first electrode (100) being arranged at an outlet (11) of said reservoir (10), a second electrode (200) forming a counter electrode to the first electrode (100) for accelerating said droplets (D) along the spraying direction (S), and a housing (30) holding the reservoir (10) as well as said electrodes (100, 200).
Percutaneous Catheter System and Method for Rapid Diagnosis of Lung Disease
A percutaneously delivered medical device and its method of use includes a catheter, at least two electromagnetic sensing coils located within the distal tip of the catheter, and at least one within the proximal handle, and a multi-element planar ultrasound transducer array located within the distal tip of the catheter and configured to transmit and receive ultrasonic energy in at least two imaging modes. The device also includes an imaging system coupled to the ultrasound transducer and is used for creating an image of tissue in a first target plane that extends orthogonally from the catheter body. The medical device also includes a backscatter evaluation system for use in receiving and evaluating the acoustic spectral characteristics of tissues within a second target area within the first target plane.
VASCULAR ISOLATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A system and method enabling the receipt of image data of a patient, identification of one or more locations within the image data depicting symptoms of lung disease, analyzing airways and vasculature proximate the identified locations, planning a pathway to the one or more locations, navigating an extended working channel to one of the locations, identifying the direction of blood flow within vasculature serving the location, positioning a catheter proximate the location, and temporarily isolating a portion of the identified vasculature serving the location depicting symptoms of lung disease.
Systems and methods of aerosol delivery with airflow regulation
An example aerosol delivery device includes a mouthpiece having an airflow outlet, and an airflow passage extending between an airflow inlet and the airflow outlet. The example aerosol delivery device further includes a housing configured to receive a cartridge that includes an aerosolizable substance and a vapor element configured to heat the aerosolizable substance, and an internal power source configured to provide electrical power. The example aerosol delivery device further includes a controller coupled to the internal power source to receive a portion of the electrical power and configured to, when the cartridge is installed at the housing, cause the vapor element of the cartridge to heat the aerosolizable substance to release an aerosol into the airflow passage during an inhalation through the airflow outlet, and a connector configured to receive power from an external source to recharge the internal power source.
COMPOUND CURVE NAVIGATION CATHETER
A catheter assembly for navigation including a flexible catheter having a proximal portion adjacent a proximal end and a distal portion adjacent a distal end and defining a longitudinal axis, the flexible catheter defining a lumen extending therethrough along a longitudinal axis and configured to enable translation of an instrument from the proximal end to the distal end. The flexible catheter defines a compound curve formed on the distal portion, wherein the compound curve includes an elbow bend and a radially curved portion. The elbow bend deflecting the distal portion of the flexible catheter from the longitudinal axis, while the radially curved portion extends from the elbow bend farther deflecting the distal portion about a center point. The catheter guide assembly for navigation includes a control handle disposed at the proximal end of the flexible catheter and is configured to advance and rotate the flexible catheter within a luminal structure.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR ASPIRATING BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL FROM A BODY LUMEN
An intraluminal system for aspirating biological material from a lumen of a patient includes a disposable intraluminal device having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The system includes a disposable pump configured to aspirate the biological material from the lumen of the patient. The disposable pump is coupled to the proximal portion of the intraluminal device. The disposable pump comprises a pump chassis that houses: an inlet port configured to sealably attach to the proximal portion of the intraluminal device; an outlet port configured to expel the aspirated biological from the pump; and a flow controller configured to adjust a fluid flow through the pump, wherein the pump chassis is sized and shaped to be manually supported by a user.
Patient Ventilator Control Using Constant Flow and Breathing Triggers
The embodied invention is a new inspiration/expiration ventilator flow design, with a constant inspiration flow and intermittent-concurrent expiratory flow based on lung pressure setpoints. This mode is possible by using a new dual lumen tube inserted into a patient Trachea. Additionally, the control provides support for patient initiated breathing which is initiated by a lung pressure drop. This control provides continuous and gentle recruitment of lung alveoli.
