A catheter configured to be deployed in a urinary tract of a patient includes a proximal portion configured to pass through a percutaneous opening and a distal portion including a retention portion. The retention portion is configured to be deployed in a kidney, renal pelvis, and/or bladder of the patient. The retention portion includes one or more protected drainage holes, ports or perforations and is configured, when deployed, to establish an outer periphery or protective surface area that inhibits mucosal tissue from occluding the one or more protected drainage holes, ports, or perforations upon application of negative pressure through the catheter.

Catheter

The present invention relates to a catheter 10. The catheter 10 includes a catheter tube 12 having a tip end 13 and a distal end 14, with the distal end 14 being coupled to or forming at least part of a funnel 16 for discharging fluid from within the catheter tube 12. A sleeve 18 is provided about the catheter tube 12 which is coupled at an end thereof to the funnel 16 and extends towards the tip end 13 of the catheter tube 12. The catheter 10 additionally includes a wetting mechanism 20 which is integrally formed with the funnel 16 and includes a holding chamber 22 and a fluid outlet 26 operable to allow fluid 24 from within the holding chamber 22 to be released within the sleeve 18 for wetting an outer surface of the catheter tube 12.

A device is provided for delivering one or more substances within at least one body cavity. The catheter comprises a proximal insertion end, a distal connection end, and a connector at the distal end. The connector defines a distal opening. The catheter assembly further comprises a sleeve of liquid-impermeable material configured to define at least part of a liquid tight enclosure. The enclosure encloses the insertable part of the catheter. The enclosure is closed by a first closure in the proximal end and a second closure in the distal end. The second closure is configured to be opened as the outer package is opened and the first closure is configured to be opened as the catheter and sleeve is removed from the outer package.

Irrigation devices, methods, and systems are disclosed. The system comprises a catheter with one or more lumens and an expandable portion. One or more pumps are used to supply a mixture of contrasting and dilating agents in an interior kidney volume and flush a portion of the mixture out of the interior kidney volume. The method comprises placing a catheter into the interior kidney volume through a ureter, occluding a portion of the ureter with a distal end of the catheter, forming an exit port through an exterior kidney surface, flowing the contrasting and dilating agents through the one or more lumens to supply the mixture in the interior kidney volume, and flushing a portion of the mixture out of the exit port.

Irrigation devices, methods, and systems are disclosed. The system comprises a catheter with one or more lumens and an expandable portion. An indwelling valve actuated urinary catheter has an inner catheter having an inlet port configured on a distal end and for locating within the bladder and a sheath that extends over the inner catheter to produce a valve. The sheath extends over the inlet port when the valve is in a closed position and manipulation of a valve actuator on the proximal end, located within the penis, opens the valve. A bladder plug configured on the distal end of the inner catheter may form a seal between the catheter sheath and the inner catheter. The valve actuator may comprise a proximal nodule and a distal nodule that are configured within the urethra along the penis. Manual manipulation of the valve actuator through the penis, such as by pinching the penis, moves the proximal and distal nodules with respect to each other to open or close the valve.
