Reducing erroneous detection of input command gestures
Embodiments of the present invention provide for a system and method for reducing erroneous detection of input command gestures. The method is performed by the system and includes storing a reference time value of when a presence of a human body part is detected by a first sensor and storing a further time value of when a presence of a human body part is detected by a second sensor. The reference time value and further time value are compared to provide a difference value which is used to determine a valid occurrence of an input command gesture.
Load control device responsive to non-contact actuations
A control device configured for use in a load control system to control an electrical load external to the control device may comprise an actuation member having a front surface defining a capacitive touch surface configured to detect a touch actuation along at least a portion of the front surface. The control device includes a main printed circuit board (PCB) comprising a control circuit, a tactile switch, a controllably conductive device, and a drive circuit operatively coupled to a control input of the controllably conductive device for rendering the controllably conductive device conductive or non-conductive to control the amount of power delivered to the electrical load. The control device also includes a capacitive touch PCB that comprises a touch sensitive circuit comprising one or more receiving capacitive touch pads located on the capacitive touch PCB and arranged in a linear array adjacent to the capacitive touch surface.
Method for launching application and terminal device
A method for launching an application and a mobile terminal are provided. The method includes the following operations. Whether a touch operation of a user received on a touch display screen of a mobile terminal belongs to a touch operation set in a mapping relationship with an application set of the mobile terminal is judged, in response to the touch operation being detected when the touch display screen is in a screen-off mode. A proximity sensor in an off-state or a dormant-state is started based on a judgment that the touch operation belongs to the touch operation set. Existence of an occlusion within a preset distance in front of the touch display screen is detected with the proximity sensor. An application corresponding to the touch operation is launched when no occlusion exists.
LIGHTING WALL CONTROLLER HAVING TOUCH REJECTION CAPABILITY AND PROXIMITY DETECTION
A lighting wall controller having a capability to reject user inputs at a surface of the wall controller and/or proximity detection in accordance with sensing signals received at locations on and near the wall controller. Programming configures a processor for proximity detection to detect a presence of a conductive object within a predetermined distance to the wall controller. The processor further determines whether user inputs correspond to touches at locations on the wall controller or user gestures near the wall controller to perform one of a plurality of defined lighting functions for a lighting system. When user inputs do not correspond to defined lighting functions, a number of the non-defined inputs is counted to provide an indicator of activity on the surface of the wall controller to activate a locked mode for a duration of the non-defined inputs.
TOUCH-BASED CONTROL DEVICE
A control device includes an exterior panel comprising multiple regions, including a groove region and a surrounding region that surrounds the groove region. The control device further includes a sensor layer comprising one or more sensors to detect touch inputs performed on the groove region and the surrounding region of the exterior panel. The control device further includes a control module configured to operate a plurality of devices. The control module is configured to detect a first touch input performed by a user on the groove region and a second touch input performed on the surrounding region. Based at least in part on the location of the touch inputs the control module operates respective devices of the plurality of devices.
System and method for enhanced wearable hearing device command instruction manual input
A wearable hearing device operatively coupled to an information handling system comprising a housing for a speaker and a microphone, a magnetic slider switch moveable with respect to the housing between a closed position and an open position in response to a user's external force, a rolling magnet rotating within the magnetic slider switch during movement between the open and closed positions, a bar magnet fixed within the housing having a first pole attracting the rolling magnet in the closed position and a second pole attracting the rolling magnet in the open position to reduce the external force required to move the magnetic slider switch, a hall effect sensor to sense a change in distance to the rolling magnet during movement between the open and closed positions, and to associate the change in distance with a command instruction, and a microcontroller to execute or transmit the command instruction.
Touch-less switching
A light switch network comprises a plurality of light switch units, each comprising a gesture interface to sense a user gesture by receiving at least one gesture signal from a sensing zone, and configured to exchange one or more gesture status signals with at least one other switch unit in the network in relation to the received gesture signal; each switch being enabled, on receiving the gesture signal: in a first mode, to change a designated switch mode and/or state in response to the gesture signal; or in a second mode, to not change the designated switch mode and/or state according to one or more conditions associated with the status signals received from the other switch unit.
LIGHT SWITCH AS TOUCHLESS CONTROLLER
The invention is a wall-mounted light switch that includes a sensor module configured to detect a touchless gestures and a controlling module configured to control the light source in response to the detected first gesture.
