An electrode is provided that includes a wire that has a wire diameter of between 75 and 125 microns. The electrode includes a non-electrically-insulated current-application longitudinal segment, which, in the absence of any applied forces, is coiled and has (i) an outer coil diameter of between 3 and 7 times the wire diameter, and (ii) an entire longitudinal length of between 5 and 35 mm. The electrode further includes an electrically-insulated lead longitudinal segment, which has an entire longitudinal length of at least 10 mm, in the absence of any applied forces. Systems and methods for skin rejuvenation are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a skin rejuvenation system includes a unit dose of a booster product that includes active ingredients of ferulic acid and phloretin; a unit dose of at least one exfoliating product that includes active ingredients of ferulic acid and phloretin in combination with fruit acids or alpha hydroxyacids; and a unit dose of a nano-additive product for enhancing penetration of the active ingredients. Embodiments of the invention provide methods for the transdermal delivery of therapeutic agents for the treatment of addictive cravings e.g., nicotine compounds for the treatment of nicotine cravings from tobacco use. An embodiment of a method for such delivery comprises positioning at least one electrode assembly in electrical communication with a patient's skin. The assembly includes a solution comprising a therapeutic agent which passively diffuses into the skin. A dose of agent is delivered from the assembly into the skin during a first period using a first current having a characteristic e.g., polarity and magnitude, to repel the agent out of the assembly. The apparatus for topical application of material (10) further comprises application apparatus configured to apply material for cosmetic purposes to the skin whilst substantially no iontophoretic current flows through the skin and after the permeability of the skin has been changed.
