ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
Described is a bioelectric stimulating device for reducing orthodontic treatment time (braces) with post-treatment stability enhancement. The device and associated methods provide a native sustainable optimal release of an increase in the quantity of the right cells and proteins over time and in the right sequence to optimize tooth movement with the braces by accelerating bone resorption at the leading edge of the tooth during movement. This acceleration phenomenon is responsible for being able to shorten orthodontic treatment time. Following the final alignment of the teeth, the same device can utilize the native response and accelerate the tooth/bone interface stability by targeting specific cells and proteins that are responsible for bone deposition (hardening) in order to shorten the retention phase, while greatly decreasing the chance of relapse (instability).
STIMULATOR, PUMP & COMPOSITION
Described is a low voltage, pulsed electrical stimulation device for controlling expression of, for example, follistatin, a muscle formation promotion protein, by tissues. Epicardial stimulation is especially useful for heart treatment. Follistatin controlled release is also useful for treating other ailments, such as erectile dysfunction, aortic aneurysm, and failing heart valves.
Electrode interface devices for delivery of neuroregenerative therapy
Systems, devices and methods are disclosed related to shapeable lead assemblies. Such lead assemblies can be configured to be shaped in a desired manner before and/or during a procedure, such as, for example, after the lead assembly has been at least partially placed within the anatomy of a subject. The shapeable lead assembly can be shaped during a neuroregenerative procedure to contact and/or otherwise interface with a targeted nerve.
RESORBABLE IMPLANT FOR STIMULATING TISSUE, SYSTEMS INCLUDING SUCH IMPLANT, AND METHODS OF USING
A system for stimulating tissue generally comprises a resorbable implant. The resorbable implant includes a substrate, at least one contact, and a transceiver, wherein the substrate, the at least one contact, and the transceiver are resorbable. The system also includes a controller configured to communicate with the transceiver of the resorbable implant and a power supply connected to the controller. The controller delivers power to the resorbable implant from the power supply. The resorbable implant delivers electrical stimulation to tissue when the resorbable implant receives power.
Electret implant for treatment of arthrosis
The invention relates to electret implant and to electrotherapy using static electricity of electret coatings for treatment of arthrosis of different joints: knee, hip, and shoulder, including for the arthrosis treatment of small bones of arms and legs. The inventive electret implant includes an extended body with a proximal and a distal end. On surface of the body a dielectric coating in an electret state is formed. The implant, wherein its body is implemented as a rod, at the proximal end of which a frontal surface is formed, and the fixation device of the implant in the hole in the bone can be made at the distal end. The bushing, wherein on its outer surface a thread for its set is made in the hole in the bone, and on its inner surface a thread for fixation of the electret implant in the hole is made.
System and method for dynamically stimulating bone growth
A system and method for electrical stimulation in an orthopedic implant that includes at least one implantable component with an implant body, a plurality of electrodes, and implant circuitry is effective to convert an external wireless power transmission to an electrical current and effective to control the plurality of electrodes; and at least one non-implant with a power source, and transmitter circuitry to generate the electromagnetic field that couples with the implant circuitry.
Sensor for intervertebral fusion indicia
A diagnostic system is provided that provides sensing and transmitting of fusion indicia to determine whether fusion has occurred. In some embodiments, a diagnostic system comprises a spinal implant or graft material; an antenna configured for sending signals to a remote location; a sensor configured for measuring at least one fusion indicia; and a receiver for receiving signals at the remote location. In some embodiments, a method of utilizing a diagnostic system comprises the steps of inserting a spinal implant or graft material within a disc space between two vertebrae; measuring at least one fusion indicia; sending signals to a remote location with an antenna; and receiving signals with a receiver at the remote location.
Therapeutic stimulator system
Systems, devices and methods are provided for transcutaneously delivering energy impulses to bodily tissues for therapeutic purposes, such as for enhancing the body's bone healing process in spinal fusion patients. A therapeutic stimulator system comprises a housing for an energy source and a signal generator. The system further includes one or more electrodes coupled to the signal generator. A processor is coupled to the housing and configured to determine usage levels of the signal generator and/or motion data of the housing. The system may include a mobile device that allows the patient to input user status data, such as pain levels, and compare the user status data with the usage levels and/or the motion data, thereby improving patient compliance with a prescribed therapy regimen.
KLOTHO MODULATION
Described is a low voltage, pulsed electrical stimulation device for upregulating expression of klotho, a useful protein, by tissues. Also described are methods of enhancing expression of klotho in cells.
High-power pulsed electromagnetic field applicator systems
Described herein are high-power pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) applicator apparatuses. These apparatuses are configured to drive multiple applicators to concurrently deliver high-power PEMF signals to tissue. The apparatuses may be further configured to wirelessly communicate with a remote server for patient monitoring, prescription and/or device servicing.
