A method for compressing pre-compressed data used in a reconfigurable processor, where the pre-compressed data includes a number of data blocks, obtains a current data block, calculates a current checking code of the current data block, and compares the current checking code with an immediately-previous checking code. A tag of the current data block is marked as a first tag if the current checking code and the immediately-previous checking code are different, and is marked as a second tag if the current checking code and the immediately-previous checking code are the same. Only data blocks whose tags are the first tags are saved. A related device for compressing data, and a method and a device for decompressing data are also provided.
PROVIDING MEMORY BANDWIDTH COMPRESSION USING COMPRESSION INDICATOR (CI) HINT DIRECTORIES IN A CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT (CPU)-BASED SYSTEM
Providing memory bandwidth compression using compression indicator (CI) hint directories in a central processing unit (CPU)-based system is disclosed. In this regard, a compressed memory controller provides a CI hint directory comprising a plurality of CI hint directory entries, each providing a plurality of CI hints. The compressed memory controller is configured to receive a memory read request comprising a physical address of a memory line, and initiate a memory read transaction comprising a requested read length value. The compressed memory controller is further configured to, in parallel with initiating the memory read transaction, determine whether the physical address corresponds to a CI hint directory entry in the CI hint directory. If so, the compressed memory controller reads a CI hint from the CI hint directory entry of the CI hint directory, and modifies the requested read length value of the memory read transaction based on the CI hint.

Systems and Methods for Transmitting Streaming Symbols using Instantaneous Encoding
Systems and methods for performing real-time feedback communication in accordance with various embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In many embodiments, instantaneous encoding is utilized for transmitting symbols from a streaming source over a DMC with feedback. In certain embodiments, instantaneous encoding is performed during the arriving period of the symbols. At time t, the encoder and the decoder calculate the priors of possible symbol sequences using the source distribution and the posteriors at time t−1. In a number of embodiments, the encoder and decoder then partition the evolving message alphabet into groups, so that the group priors are close to the capacity-achieving distribution. In contrast to the SED rule for symmetric binary-input channels, partitioning processes in accordance with several embodiments of the invention utilize group priors instead of group posteriors for the partitioning. In many embodiments, once the groups are partitioned, the encoder determines the index of the group that contains the true symbol sequence it received so far and uses the group index to determine the appropriate channel input.

A compression engine calculates replacement CRC codes, in predetermined data lengths, for DIF-in cleartext data including cleartext data and multiple CRC codes based on the cleartext data. The compression engine generates headered compressed-text data in which a header including the replacement CRC codes is added to compressed-text data in which the cleartext data is compressed, and generates code-in compressed-text data by calculating multiple CRC codes based on the headered compressed-text data to add the calculated CRC codes to the headered compressed-text data.

Provided is a data processing device that reduces the amount of memory access in a case where data and an error control code are to be stored in a memory. The processing device includes a data compression section, a code generation section, a binding section, and a transfer section. The data compression section generates second data by performing a predetermined compression process on first data that is to be stored in a memory and of a predetermined data length. The code generation section generates an error control code for the first data or the second data. The binding section generates third data by binding the second data generated by the data compression section to the error control code generated by the code generation section. The transfer section transfers the third data generated by the binding section to the memory in units of the predetermined data length.
Virtual vehicle control system
A remote vehicle control system includes a vehicle mounted sensor system including a video camera system for producing video data and a distance mapping sensor system for producing distance map data. A data handling system is used to compress and transmit both the video and distance map data over a cellular network using feed forward correction. A virtual control system acts to receive the video and distance map data, while providing a user with a live video stream supported by distance map data. Based on user actions, control instructions can be sent to the vehicle mounted sensor system and the remote vehicle over the cellular network.
