Systems and methods to mitigate electro-magnetic interference in single twisted-pair-based communication systems
A transceiver to communicate in a vehicle via a single twisted-pair Ethernet cable includes a transmitter to transmit signals via the single twisted-pair Ethernet cable and a receiver to receive signals via the single twisted-pair Ethernet cable. The transceiver includes an equalizer, a signal-to-noise ratio estimator, and a controller. The equalizer includes a notch filter and a slicer. The equalizer receives an input signal received by the transceiver via the single twisted-pair Ethernet cable. The notch filter cancels electromagnetic interference from the input signal and to output a filtered signal. The slicer slices the filtered signal. The signal-to-noise ratio estimator estimates a signal-to-noise ratio based on an output of the slicer. The controller controls a rate of adapting the equalizer by controlling a rate of change of tap values of the notch filter based on the signal-to-noise ratio.
Comprehensive system design to address the needs for virtual segmentation of the coaxial cable plant
Methods and devices for dynamically designated first and second subsets of a plurality of frequency channels as upstream and downstream channels, respectively, for performing wired communications using virtual segmentation between a network controller and an endpoint device. performing virtual segmentation to service an endpoint device. Communications are performed between the network controller and the endpoint device through a wired communication medium using the upstream and downstream channels. The first subset and second subsets of the plurality of channels are designated as upstream channels and downstream channels, respectively, based at least in part on one or both of upstream and downstream channel demand and channel availability.

Signal processing device, signal processing method, and program
The present technology relates to a signal processing device, a signal processing method, and a program capable of reducing influence of crosstalk. Provided are: a plurality of comparators; a delay unit adapted to delay output of each of the plurality of comparators; and a subtractor adapted to subtract, from a supplied signal, a signal from the delay unit. The signal processing device processes signals transmitted in N phases and includes (N−1) or more comparators. Each of the plurality of comparators has a different threshold value set and compares a received signal with the threshold value, and in a case where the signal transitions between a plurality of voltage levels, the threshold value is set to a value within adjacent voltage levels. The present technology can be applied to a reception device that receives a signal transmitted in multiple phases and via multiple lines.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EDGE EQUALIZATION FOR HIGH SPEED DRIVERS
A line driver for signal equalization is described. The line driver may comprise an equalization driver and a gating circuit. The gating circuit may be configured to gate the equalization driver between a first transition and a second transition, such as between a rising edge and a falling edge. The gating circuit may comprise one or more delay elements, such as one or more inverters, configured to generate the second transition in response to receiving the first transition, where the second transition is delayed with respect to the first transition. Such line driver may be used to signals having high data rates to transmission lines, such as cables or metal connection on printed circuit boards.
