Modeling-guided Light therapy for Adjusting Circadian Rhythm
20220134052 · 2022-05-05 · ·

Systems and methods for adjusting a user's circadian rhythm are provided. In some embodiments, a system may be configured to obtain information relating to the user's present circadian rhythm and information relating to one or more anticipated times of sleep and/or wakefulness. The system may generate a model for estimating the user's circadian rhythm. The system may also generate a model for estimating the user's homeostatic sleep drive. Based on one or both models, the system may generate instructions for activating the light source to adjust the user's circadian rhythm.

Navigation And Local Thermometry

A system including a thermal sensor with an instrument placed in a volume. The thermal sensor may be useful in determining a temperature at a surface of the instrument and a distance away from the instrument. A therapy may be performed based on a sensed temperature with the thermal sensors.

Dynamic dosing systems for phototherapy and associated devices, systems, and methods

Dynamic dosing systems for phototherapy and associated devices, systems, and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a dynamic dosing phototherapy system can include a self-service phototherapy kiosk (“SPK”) configured to emit UV radiation, a user interface communicatively coupled to the SPK, and a dynamic dosing system communicatively coupled to the user interface and the SPK. The dynamic dosing system can determine initial, user-specific parameters specific to define a first individual phototherapy protocol, and then determine adjustments to the initial parameters and the first individual phototherapy protocol based on user inputs related to erythema response to a previous phototherapy treatment session. The SPK can deliver UV radiation to a user in accordance with the first individual phototherapy protocol and/or an adjusted, second phototherapy protocol that takes into account the user's erythema response.

Lighting System for Circadian Control and Enhanced Performance

Systems tune, control, or remediate the intrinsic Circadian clock. A light controller sets spectral distribution, intensity of a bioactive spectral band to shift or entrain circadian response to enhance performance and/or synchronize with local or expected conditions. The systems enhance performance under conditions that might be changing, disrupted, or otherwise present an irregular phase or unnatural change in the subject's circadian status, for example, due to geographically discontinuous activity or spectrally deficient workplace illumination, or due to divergent individual sleep/wake behaviors of subjects in a structured group activity. An illumination recipe that compensates for the deficiency of lighting or of participant sleep or behavior patterns, or age- or disease-related changes, to evoke, shift, or align circadian response and improve behaviors such as classroom alertness, relaxation, excitability, attention, or focus. Systems may receive sensed light values and automatically apply high- and/or low-CER illumination to effect the intended circadian phase.
