Bluetooth pairing method and terminal device
A Bluetooth pairing method includes: performing, by a terminal device, encryption computation on a first Bluetooth parameter to generate first pairing information; sending, by the terminal device, the first pairing information to a peer device; and when the terminal device determines that the first Bluetooth parameter is the same as a second Bluetooth parameter, and the peer device determines that the first Bluetooth parameter is the same as the second Bluetooth parameter, determining, by the terminal device, that Bluetooth pairing between the terminal device and the peer device is successful.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND AUTOMOBILE INCLUDING THE SAME
A communication device includes a master station, a ring-type transmission line whose start point and end point are connected to the master station, and a plurality of slave stations connected to the ring-type transmission line in parallel. The master station transmits a signal and feeds electric power from both of the start point and the end point of the ring-type transmission line. Each of the slave stations includes an impedance variable element connected to the ring-type transmission line in parallel, and values are set to the impedance variable elements in accordance with the connection positions of the slave stations.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPERATING A COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE THAT COMMUNICATES VIA INDUCTIVE COUPLING
Embodiments of methods and systems for operating a communications device that communicates via inductive coupling are described. In an embodiment, a method for operating a communications device that communicates via inductive coupling involves detecting a falling signal edge corresponding to a received signal at the communications device based on a falling signal edge threshold, detecting a rising signal edge corresponding to the received signal based on a rising signal edge threshold, where the rising signal edge threshold is independent from the falling signal edge threshold, and decoding the received signal based on the detected falling signal edge and the detected rising signal edge. Other embodiments are also described.
DETECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A RESPIRATORY MOVEMENT, COMPUTER PROGRAM, COMPUTERREADABLE STORAGE MEDIUM, AND MEDICAL DEVICE
A detection apparatus and a method are provided for detecting a respiratory movement of a patient. The detection apparatus includes at least two metallic U-shaped signal coupling elements that are interleaved so that between the signal coupling elements arises at least one coupling point at which a signal may be transferred between the two signal coupling elements. Analysis electronics are configured to detect a change in a receive signal produced in a second of the signal coupling elements that is acting as a receiver in the near-field region of the first signal coupling elements as a result of a signal given for one of the signal coupling elements that is acting as a transmitter being coupled into the second of the signal coupling elements, which change indicates the respiratory movement.
Paging system and method using wireless communication
A paging system comprise paging buttons configured to transmit a first signal including a paging request; a server configured to: receive the first signal, identify which of the paging buttons transmit the first signal received by the server, and transmit to at least one portable device a second signal including information on an identifier corresponding to the identified paging button that transmits the first signal, and the paging request; and at least one portable device configured to: display the identifier corresponding to the identified paging button and/or the paging request based on the second signal, and transmit to the server a third signal in response to an acceptance input responded to the paging request. The server transmits to at least one portable device a fourth signal confirming that the portable device transmitting the third signal is matched to the identified paging button in response to the third signal.
Apparatus, method and article for authentication, security and control of portable charging devices and power storage devices, such as batteries
A network of collection, charging and distribution machines collect, charge and distribute portable electrical energy storage devices (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors or ultracapacitors). To charge, the machines employ electrical current from an external source, such as the electrical grid or an electrical service of an installation location. Users may also use portable charging devices that authenticate portable electrical energy storage devices or are authenticated by portable electrical energy storage devices before the charging is allowed or enabled. This authentication may be via wired or wireless communication channels between the portable charging device and portable electrical energy storage device, such as via near field communication (NFC) channels.
Expansion modules with switches and external communication
An external auxiliary switch mechanism having a base device and an expansion module. The base device may incorporate a transceiver and microcontroller connected to the transceiver. The expansion module may incorporate a transceiver and a microcontroller connected to the transceiver. The microcontroller of the expansion module may have a connection to one or more switches and/or a communication module connected to a network. Data may be transferred wirelessly between the transceiver of the base device and the transceiver of the expansion module with, for example, near-field communication techniques. In some versions of the present mechanism, the expansion module may derive power from signals from the basic device.
Reader-mode performance enhancement for inductively coupled communication systems
This specification discloses methods and systems providing reader-mode performance enhancement for operating a device that communicates via inductive coupling. In reader-mode, Tx (transmitter) power of a reader device is maximized even though for some tags, the communication distance is limited by Rx (receiver) sensitivity. Therefore, power is wasted. Even worse, a too highly boosted Tx power demands a high Rx dynamic range and consequently a low Rx sensitivity. In turn, the communication distance may even be degraded by a too highly boosted Tx power. Therefore, in some embodiments, reader-mode performance enhancement is based on backing off Tx (transmitter) power when not needed (energy distance>communication distance) to save power and/or to relax reader-mode Rx (receiver) sensitivity requirements. In some embodiments, the backing off of Tx (transmitter) is also based on a sensor determining a geometric position/location of a reader device relative to a tag-mode device.
