Packaging system with detection of environmental conditions
A packaging system for at least one article includes a multilayer laminate structure and at least one sensor. The laminate structure encapsulates a transformative material between first and second conductive layers, which undergoes a state change that changes impedance between the first and second conductive layers in response to a perforation produced by the at least one sensor. An NFC/RFID circuit is electrically coupled to the first and second conductive layers of the multilayer laminate structure. At least one operational characteristic of the NFC/RFID circuit is dependent on the impedance change between the first and second conductive layers in response to a perforation produced by the sensor under predetermined environmental conditions. The operational characteristic(s) of the NFC/RFID circuit can be ascertained and analyzed (for example, by operations of an NFC/RFID interrogator) to detect and register the predetermined environmental conditions and provide an indication thereof.
TAG APPARATUS FOR ATTACHING THINGS BASED ON HUMAN BODY COMMUNICATION
Disclosed is a tag apparatus for attaching things based on human body communication, including: a tag main body for human body communication configured to be attached to a thing to transmit identification information on a thing to a human body communication receiving device through human body communication during the contact of the human body with the thing; a case configured to protect the tag main body for human body communication; and a thing attachment portion configured to be exposed to an outside of the case to be attached to a particular part of the thing, detect when the human body contacts or approaches the thing, and forms a human body communication channel to output identification information on the thing.
Personal protection equipment system
A method for tracking procedures performed on personal protection equipment (PPE) and actions of individuals includes the following steps. An article of PPE configured with a smart tag is provided to an individual prior to performance of a task. After the individual performs the task, the article of PPE is processed. Information is retrieved from the smart tag during at least one of: before, during and after processing the article of PPE. After the performance of the task, the individual's data is read and the individual enters into a designated area.
Position-sensing sensor and position-sensing system
A position-sensing sensor of a position-sensing system includes first and a second radio transponders that each have a transmitter/receiver connected to an antenna and has a memory for persistent data storage, wherein the first radio transponder has an energy supply source and is selectively switchable into a reduced energy consumption idle state and into an active operating state with complete range of functionality, where during the active operating state, a radio connection to a first radio transponder reader is established for position sensing, where the second radio transponder, which is inductively supplyable with energy by a radio transponder reader, upon entering a range of a second radio transponder reading unit, transfers the first radio transponder from the idle state into the active operating state or transfers position information associated with the second radio transponder to a server of the position-sensing system via the second radio transponder reader.
Forearm guard with multiple utilities
A forearm guard compressive sleeve is disclosed which functions as a protective guard in athletic endeavors and as fashion apparel and as an advertising and promotional medium. The sleeve is constructed to mitigate the effects of environmental and mechanical hazards, limit the deleterious effects of an athlete's perspiration and muscle stress and imbue the user with psychological confidence in his or her athletic performance. The inventive forearm guard incorporates Near Field Communication components including one of more NFC tags which enable access via NFC-enabled mobile smart phones or computers to the Internet. A method is disclosed enabling celebrity athletes or personnel using the inventive forearm guard to transfer wireless personalized information to fans and supporters including sending virtual autographs and mementos.
Device settings based on usage history
In one example, a system is disclosed, which may include a recognition unit to obtain a user profile from a mobile device via a short-range wireless communication between the mobile device and the multi-functional device. Further, the system may include a retrieving unit to retrieve usage history associated with the user profile. Furthermore, the system may include a configuration unit to temporarily configure operational settings for the multi-functional device based on the usage history.
Device for adjusting path of power and method for operating the same
An electronic device includes a battery, a power regulator electrically connected with the battery and including an input terminal and an output terminal, a connector electrically connected with the input terminal, a wireless power transmitting circuit electrically connected with the output terminal, a switch electrically connected between the connector and the wireless power transmitting circuit, and a controller configured to identify an approaching external electronic device or a wireless charging-related request, identify whether power is provided from an external power supply via the connector in response to the identification, in response to identifying that power is not provided from the external power supply, supply power from the battery via the power regulator to the wireless power transmitting circuit, and in response to identifying that power is provided from the external power supply, supply the power provided from the external power supply to the wireless power transmitting circuit via the switch.
Method and system for detecting a specific relative position between two objects
A system for detecting a specific relative position between a reader and a receiver, including: an inductive contactless receiver including an antenna winding and a circuit for selectively modulating a load; an inductive contactless reader including: a transceiver antenna circuit having nonzero mutual inductance with the antenna winding for the position, a communication circuit connected to the transceiver antenna circuit, a receiver antenna circuit having mutual inductance with the antenna winding that exhibits a minimum for the position, and a processing circuit for: identifying presence of a receiver by detecting nonzero mutual inductance between the transceiver antenna circuit and an antenna winding, and detecting a mutual inductance minimum between the receiver antenna circuit and an antenna winding.
