Lighting system for protecting circadian neuroendocrine function

Lighting systems, methods, and devices for protecting human circadian neuroendocrine function during night use are described. Suitable lighting conditions can be provided for a working environment while protecting the circadian neuroendocrine systems of those occupying the illuminated workplace during the night. Lighting systems, methods, and devices can provide substantive attenuation of the pathologic circadian disruption in night workers. Lighting systems, methods, and devices can attenuate the specific bands of light implicated in circadian disruption. LED lighting systems, methods, and devices can provide increased intensity at a different portion of the spectrum than conventional LEDs, providing a useable white light even when unfavorable portions of the wavelength are attenuated by a notch filter. LED lighting systems, methods, and devices can switch between a daytime configuration and a night time configuration, wherein the daytime configuration provides unfiltered light and the night time configuration provides filtered light.

LIGHT IRRADIATION DEVICE

A light irradiation device includes a light source unit emitting a light to a wounded are of a skin and a controller controlling the light source unit. The light source unit includes a substrate, at least one first light source disposed on the substrate and emitting a first light in a blue wavelength band, and at least one second light source disposed on the substrate and emitting a second light in a red wavelength band to a near-infrared wavelength band. The first and second lights have different skin penetration depths from each other depending on a wavelength.

A method is disclosed for generating a database to be used to set illumination of an adjustable light source. The method comprising: for a plurality of different users: identifying an individual user; setting a specific light profile of the adjustable light source, the specific light profile comprising information pertaining to a spectral content and/or intensity of light by which the individual user is exposed to; while exposing the individual user for the specific light profile, sensing data pertaining to a health condition and/or a behavior of the individual user; determining a data set linking the specific light profile, genomic data pertaining to the individual user, and the data pertaining to the health condition and/or the behavior of the individual user sensed while exposing the individual user to the specific light profile; and storing the linked data set in a database. A light control system is further provided.

Restructuring neural pathways in the brain with a combination of transcranial therapies
10758739 · 2020-09-01 · ·

Brain dysfunction can be treated by restructuring neural pathways in the brain. A desired area in the brain to form a new neural pathway is selected. The area receives a sequential combination of (1) transcranial photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) including a series of pulses having a frequency matched to a target brain wave and (2) another transcranial stimulation (e.g., transcranial direct current electrical stimulation and/or transcranial magnetic stimulation). The different stimulation mechanisms ensure that neuroplasticity occurs to restructure a neural pathway that is dysfunctional in nature to a new neural pathway that conducts normally.

Optical stimulation device and method for programming

The invention relates to an optical stimulation device for stimulating nerve cells, wherein the stimulation device has at least one implant component, which is designed for implanting in a natural inner cavity of the body of a living being, through which cavity a bodily fluid flows, having the following features: a) the implant component has at least one supporting structure, which can be expanded in a radial direction for fastening in the natural inner cavity, b) a plurality of light sources is fastened to the supporting structure, which light sources are designed to emit light in the radial direction with respect to the supporting structure, c) a plurality or electrodes is fastened to the supporting structure, which electrodes are designed to capture electrical body signals, d) the supporting structure has a plurality of openings and/or channels, through which the bodily fluid can flow after implantation in the body. The invention further relates to a method for programming the parameter memory of a stimulation device.
