Illuminating an environment
A method of emitting light from one or more light emitting elements, the method comprising: emitting a first time period of photopic light, followed by emitting a first time period of scotopic light, followed by emitting a second time period of photopic light, and followed by emitting a second time period of scotopic light; wherein a first transition from the first time period of photopic light to the first time period of scotopic light is different compared to a second transition from the second time period of photopic light to the second time period of scotopic light, and/or wherein a third transition from the first time period of scotopic light to the second time period of photopic light is different compared to a fourth transition from the second time period of scotopic light to the first time period of photopic light or a third time period of photopic light.
LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR PROTECTING CIRCADIAN NEUROENDOCRINE FUNCTION
Lighting systems, methods, and devices for protecting human circadian neuroendocrine function during night use are described. Suitable lighting conditions can be provided for a working environment while protecting the circadian neuroendocrine systems of those occupying the illuminated workplace during the night. Lighting systems, methods, and devices can provide substantive attenuation of the pathologic circadian disruption in night workers. Lighting systems, methods, and devices can attenuate the specific bands of light implicated in circadian disruption. LED lighting systems, methods, and devices can provide increased intensity at a different portion of the spectrum than conventional LEDs, providing a useable white light even when unfavorable portions of the wavelength are attenuated by a notch filter. LED lighting systems, methods, and devices can switch between a daytime configuration and a night time configuration, wherein the daytime configuration provides unfiltered light and the night time configuration provides filtered light.
Dynamic sauna
Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable heat sources to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR sources in a sauna.
AMBIENT LIGHTING FOR IMPROVING SLEEPING DISORDERS, COGNITION AND/OR NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
Alight system used in an ambient environment is provided. The light system comprises an emitting device and a controller coupled to the emitting device. The emitting device is configured to provide a light impinging on a subject in the ambient environment. The controller is configured to control the emitting device. The light provided by the emitting device has at least 30% green light. A line extending from the emitting device to the subject and a plane at eye level of the subject in the ambient environment forms an angle of about 45 degrees. The light has a horizontal illuminance of about 2200 lux to about 2800 lux.
VETERINARY LIGHTING APPARATUS
A veterinary lighting apparatus comprising: a heat sink on which are supported a plurality of LEDs for emitting light radiation, wherein the plurality of LEDs comprises at least one white light LED-emitter; at least one blue light LED-emitter; and at least one red light LED-emitter; and an activation means to switch on one or more of the white and/or blue and/or red light LED-emitters.
Water-filtered Near Infrared Sauna
A heating element for a sauna comprising an infrared heating element and a water filter for filtering out the far and mid infrared frequencies.
LOAD CONTROL SYSTEM RESPONSIVE TO SENSORS AND MOBILE DEVICES
A load control system may control an electrical load in a space of a building based on one or more parameters regarding the physical condition of an occupant. The parameters may be gathered by one or more sensing devices. The sensing devices may be included in a mobile device. A system controller may receive the parameters and may automatically control the electrical loads in response to the parameters. The system controller may control the electrical load to attempt to adjust the physical condition of the occupant in response to the sensed parameters. The system controller may control the electrical load to provide an alert, an alarm, and/or a warning in response to the sensed parameters.
Infant phototherapy device, method of use, and kit therefor
A phototherapy device, a kit containing such a phototherapy device, and a method for treating a patient with a phototherapy device, the phototherapy device containing a housing, an emission portion, and a light tube, the housing containing a light source that emits light at a wavelength of from about 400 nm to about 550 nm, and may contain a light shield proximal to the light source, the emission portion being distal form the housing and connected thereto via a light tube which contains an optical fibre, and a mesh that may enclose the optical fibre and may allow a limited amount of light to leak from the optical fibre to the outside environment.
LIGHTING FOR ROOT GROWTH
A biological lighting system to provide temporally- and spatially-modulated photon flux output and spectral power distributions to plants on a circadian and circannual basis, or circadian and life cycle basis, to maximize effective and efficient growth in a horticultural setting. The photon flux or irradiance output and the spectral power distribution are modulated to match circadian and circannual rhythms, with individual or multiple luminaires controlled through one or more controllers. Different lighting spectra can be employed depending on the direction of illumination. The photon flux or irradiance output and the spectral power distribution may be set as best suited for any particular plant species, and the system is also useful for raising animals.
