PHOTOBIOMODULATION (PBM) IN GENERAL LIGHTING
20220047887 · 2022-02-17 ·

A lighting arrangement for providing visible light and radiation in another spectrum that is medically beneficial is provided. The lighting arrangement comprises a light source adapted to emit visible light; a radiation source adapted to emit radiation in a predetermined spectrum, and a driver circuit adapted to provide a first driving current that is pulsed and has a duty cycle of not greater than 20%. The predetermined spectrum is preferably in the range 760-1400 nm. The lighting arrangement is adapted to provide the first driving current to the radiation source but not the light source. Corresponding method and products employing such lighting arrangement are also provided.

Device to Kill Micro-Organisms Inside the Respiratory Tract
20170281966 · 2017-10-05 ·

A present idea relates to a device to kill micro-organisms inside the patient's respiratory tract using UV light, specifically UV-C. It is particularly used to treat patients with Coronaviruses family such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The device consists of a triple-lumen catheter and UV control unit. The distal end of one of the catheter's lumen has a curved UV chamber while the proximal end has a cable with a socket to be connected to the UV control unit. The second lumen of the catheter is used for oxygen supply, and the third lumen of the catheter is used for suction.

Beauty Device with Hydrogen Sterilization Water Spray and Temperature Stimulation Function
20220047412 · 2022-02-17 ·

The beauty device according to the present invention comprises by including a mist processing part generating sterilization water by electrolyzing water in a water tank and spraying the generated sterilization water in the form of mists, and a temperature stimulation processing part applying temperature stimulation to skin using a thermoelement. A more convenient and efficient skin care can be made possible because a mist spray function of hydrogen sterilization water and a temperature stimulation function can be simultaneously implemented using a single portable device. The temperature stimulation function can be simply implemented because temperature is controlled using a Peltier device.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE PROPHYLAXIS OF HEARING IMPAIRMENT OR VERTIGO
20170274219 · 2017-09-28 ·

The invention relates to an irradiation apparatus for the prophylaxis of hearing impairment and/or vertigo, to a system of functionally connected apparatus components which interact with each other, and a method that uses the irradiation apparatus for the prophylactic irradiation of the inner ear with photons in order to prevent hearing impairment and/or vertigo in a wearer of the irradiation apparatus.

Device for Photoactivation and Reaction Monitoring

The present invention relates to a device to photocure and/or photoactivate a photosensitive material. The device comprises several subsystems to transmit light towards an area of interest where a photosensitive material is applied as well as to collect light reflected by the applied photosensitive material. Reflected light is analyzed by an optical detector to monitor the photocuring and/or photoactivation process. Further means to inject or otherwise apply a photosensitive material can be combined in the same device. Methods for applying a fluent polymerizable material to a target site and for effecting polymerization of the fluent light-sensitive material in situ are also disclosed.

FIELD STERILIZER AND VASCULAR CONNECTOR KIT

Placement of a vascular access device (intravenous, intra-arterial and/or intra-osseous vascular access) in a non-sterile environment greatly increases the risk of infection via the vascular access device. This invention provides an approach for accomplishing sterilization of the site where vascular access will be attempted under non-sterile field conditions. In addition, this invention provides a sterile vascular connector pre-loaded with an antimicrobial, e.g., Taurolidine. Use of the vascular connector provides the antimicrobial concurrently with achieving vascular access, which limits the risk of infection despite access placement under non-sterile field conditions.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING PLATELET BIOGENESIS AND EXTENDING PLATELET LIFESPAN WITH LOW LEVEL LIGHT
20170246470 · 2017-08-31 ·

The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods that can apply low level light (LLL) to facilitate platelet biogenesis or extend platelet lifespan. While not wishing to be bound by theory, it is believed that LLL can enhance the ATP synthesis by the mitochondria within platelets and/or platelet precursor cells, which, thereby, helps to enhance platelet biogenesis and extend the platelet lifespan. In some instances, LLL can facilitate in vitro and/or in vivo platelet biogenesis. In other instances, LLL can extend platelet lifespan in circulation. In still other instances, LLL can be employed to prolong the shelf-life of stored platelets.

LIGHT EMITTING BONE IMPLANTS

A bone implant includes a bore extending entirely through the bone implant. The bone implant also includes a light source to emit light onto bone adjacent the bone implant to stimulate bone growth and/or reduce bone loss.
