Media monitoring using multiple types of signatures
Example local devices disclosed herein include memory including a set of reference fingerprints corresponding to media, the set of reference fingerprints from a remote device different from the local device and one or more processor circuits to execute machine readable instructions to generate a monitored fingerprint of the media presented at a location and compare the monitored fingerprint to at least some of the set of reference fingerprints from the remote device. Additionally, the one or more processor circuits are to determine an amount of time that has passed since the media started and after a match between the monitored fingerprint and one or more reference fingerprints of the set of reference fingerprints, cause transmission of audience measurement information to identify the media, the audience measurement information including data indicative of the amount of time that has passed since the media started.
Media monitoring using multiple types of signatures
Example device meters disclosed herein include a signature reporter to report, to a data processor, media signatures of a first type to monitor media presented by a media device Disclosed example device meters also include a signature generator to (i) generate the media signatures of the first type, (ii) generate media signatures of a second type, different from the first type, to continue monitoring the media presented by the media device after receipt, from the data processor, of an indication that a first media signature of the first type is associated with first reference media, and (iii) in response to detection at the device meter of a change in a source of the media presented by the media device, revert to generation of the media signatures of the first type to monitor the media presented by the media device.

System and method for detecting and classifying direct response advertisements using fingerprints
System and method for detecting and classifying direct response advertisements. The system includes a unit for generating an advertisement candidate segment for an advertisement section detected from a broadcast stream a matching unit for determining whether the candidate segment matches each advertisement segment stored in a database (DB); a unit for, if the matching unit determines that a segment matching the candidate segment is not present, determining whether the candidate segment is a direct response advertisement; a registration unit for storing the candidate segment, determined to be a direct response advertisement, as an advertisement segment that is the direct response advertisement in the DB; and a direct response advertisement grouping unit for, if the matching unit determines that an advertisement segment matching the candidate segment is present, and the matching segment is a direct response advertisement, grouping the candidate segment with DB-stored advertisement segments that are direct response advertisements.

Relevancy improvement through targeting of information based on data gathered from a networked device associated with a security sandbox of a client device
A system includes a networked device configured to generate a fingerprint data, a first server configured to generate content identification data based on the fingerprint data, and a second server configured to: match the content identification data generated through the first server to an identification data of the networked device, and match the identification data of the networked device to an identification data of a user.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CAPTURING AND ACCESSING REAL-TIME AUDIO AND ASSOCIATED METADATA
Disclosed embodiments provide methods and systems to capture, persist, and access a real-time audio stream and metadata associated with a radio broadcast. The real-time audio stream is captured on an audio capture device comprising a real-time clock. The audio is associated with the points in time it is captured with time markers. In embodiments, the audio is encoded for transmission with the time markers to a remote server. After being captured, encoded, and associated with time markers, the audio is transmitted to a remote server for archiving. Client devices are used to provide access to archived content. Clients request portions of the real-time audio stream from the remote server, and identify the portions they are requesting by including in their request either real-time bounds, or other information which is associated on the remote server with real-time bounds, such as content descriptor types.
Automatic identification and verification of transmission of content
Techniques for identifying aired content are described. A first audio sample is received and processed, using a computer processor, to extract an embedded audio watermark. A content identifier identifying a first item of programming content is determined, using the computer processor and based on the audio watermark. A timestamp associated with the first audio sample is also determined based on the audio watermark. An as-aired log is updated based on the content identifier and the timestamp. The computer processor is used to identify that the first item of programming content has aired, based on the as-aired log.
