Emergency responder systems
Systems for aiding emergency responders are described. An exemplary system may include a primary device and a secondary device. The primary device may be configured to provide audio communication between the primary device and one or more of the plurality of secondary devices along a wireless communication path. The primary device may be configured to compress audio communication for transmission over a low bitrate band. The plurality of secondary devices may be configured as a network where each of the devices is configured to communicate with at least two other secondary devices. The secondary devices may also be configured to receive audio communication from the primary device and automatically transmit the received audio communication to one or more other of the secondary devices.
Signaling methods and apparatus
A transmission apparatus and transmitting method for signaling parameters of a part of a frame, and a reception apparatus and receiving method for decoding a part of a transmission frame. The transmitting method includes generating, using processing circuitry of a transmission apparatus, a transmission frame. The transmission frame includes a plurality of parts. A last symbol in a first one of the plurality of parts includes signaling information for decoding a second one of the plurality of parts. The transmitting method further includes transmitting the transmission frame using the processing circuitry.
Transmitter and transmission method for transmitting payload data and emergency information
A transmitter for transmitting payload data and emergency information using data symbols in a single-carrier or multi-carrier broadcast system includes a modulator configured to modulate one or more transmission symbols with signaling data for use in detecting and recovering the payload data at a receiver and to modulate one or more transmission symbols with the payload data. An emergency information receiver receives emergency information carrying information of an actual emergency. An emergency information embedder embeds emergency information into one or more transmission symbols, wherein the emergency information is embedded within a predetermined time period after its reception by using a resource used for carrying signaling data and/or payload data if no emergency information shall be transmitted. A transmission unit transmits the transmission symbols.

RECEIVING DEVICE, RECEIVING METHOD, SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE, AND SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD
The present technology relates to a receiving device, a receiving method, a signal processing device, and a signal processing method that enable presentation of emergency alert information more appropriately.
Provided is a receiving device including: a receiving part that receives a broadcast signal; and a processing part that processes the broadcast signal that has been received, in which the receiving part instructs the processing part in a standby state to start on the basis of emergency alert start information included in the broadcast signal that has been received, and in a case of being instructed by the receiving part to start, the processing part controls presentation of emergency alert information on the basis of signaling including the emergency alert information acquired from the broadcast signal that has been received, and receiving setting information related to a receiving setting of the emergency alert information set by a user. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a television receiver.

DELIVERING AND MONITORING EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM (EAS) MEDIA FILES VIA ROUTER COMPUTING DEVICES USING REDIRECTION RESPONSES
Delivery and monitoring of Emergency Alert System (EAS) media files via router computing devices using redirection responses is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a router computing device receives an EAS notification from a server computing device. The EAS notification received by the router computing device includes an EAS media file manifest Universal Resource Locator (URL) of an EAS media file to be pushed to subscribers. Upon receiving the EAS notification, the router computing device intercepts an Internet Protocol (IP) streaming content request from a client computing device that is communicatively coupled to the router computing device, and transmits a redirection response message that includes the EAS media file manifest URL to the client computing device. Upon receiving the redirection response message from the router computing device, the client computing device is redirected from any currently streaming media to the EAS media file manifest URL.
