METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO METER MEDIA CONTENT PRESENTED ON A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE
An example apparatus to monitor media that is presented via a mobile device includes: an application monitor to determine when media presentation software is being executed by the mobile device; and a metering information collector to collect at least one of a signature or a code of the media presented by the media presentation software based on the media presentation software being executed by the mobile device.
Provision of recommendations to adjust the advertisement campaign based on real-time generation of a campaign outcome index
Apparatuses, methods, and storage media for providing recommendations for an advertisement campaign are described. In one instance, an apparatus for providing recommendations for an advertisement campaign may include a campaign outcome index provision engine communicatively coupled to one or more processors, to generate a campaign outcome index (COI) associated with the advertisement campaign, based at least in part on a ratio between an actual outcome key performance indicator (KPI) associated with the advertisement campaign; and a baseline outcome KPI that reflects an expected average performance of the advertisement campaign; and a recommendation engine, communicatively coupled to the one or more processors, to provide recommendations to adjust a use of advertisements in the advertisement campaign, during the advertisement campaign, based at least in part on the generated COI. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Media channel identification with multi-match detection and disambiguation based on single-match
Disclosed herein are methods and systems to help disambiguate channel identification in a scenario where fingerprint data of media content matches multiple reference fingerprints corresponding respectively with multiple different channels. Upon detecting such a multi-match, a server or other entity will perform disambiguation based on a determination that a segment of the fingerprint data matches a reference fingerprint corresponding with just a single channel, such as a reference fingerprint representing commercial or news programming content specific to just the single channel. The server or other entity will thereby determine the channel on which the media content being rendered by the media presentation device is arriving, so as to facilitate taking channel-specific action.
Reception apparatus and data processing method
A reception apparatus includes a demodulation circuit configured to demodulate packets obtained with respect to each of multiple PLPs included in a broadcast signal; and a processing circuit configured to process the packets demodulated by the demodulation circuit. The demodulation circuit and the processing circuit are connected with each other via a single interface or interfaces fewer than the number of the PLPs. The demodulation circuit adds identification information to a specific packet among the packets obtained with respect to each of the PLP, the identification information identifying the PLP to which each of the packets belongs. The processing circuit identifies the PLP to which belongs each of the packets input from the demodulation circuit via the single interface or the interfaces fewer than the number of the PLPs, based on the identification information obtained from the specific packet.

Methods and apparatus for automatic TV on/off detection
Methods and apparatus are disclosed to determine a power state of a device. An example method includes determining respective counts for a plurality of measurements during a calibration period, the measurements indicative of an amount of power drawn by the device, determining a first threshold and a second threshold based on at least one of the counts, the first threshold determined using most frequently logged measurement values, the most frequently logged measurement values based on counts performed after expiration of the calibration period, comparing a measurement to the first threshold and to the second threshold, and outputting a positive indication when the measurement is within an acceptable difference range, the acceptable difference range based on the amount of power drawn by the device.

Providing energy-efficient features using human presence detection
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for the detection of human presence in an energy efficient manner using a plurality of sensors such as those of a battery-powered device such as a television remote, and a device with a processor, such as a television. Data gathered from an initial television WiFi radio scan, or an initial low-powered detection scan from the television remote, may be analyzed by the processor to determine a potential presence of one or more humans are present proximate to the device. If there is such a potential presence, the device remote can enter a full-powered detection mode to accurately determine the presence or absence of one or more humans, and take further actions.
Methods and apparatus to identify media based on watermarks across different audio streams and/or different watermarking techniques
Methods and apparatus to identify media based on watermarks across different audio streams and/or different watermarking techniques are disclosed. Example apparatus disclosed herein include a watermark detector to detect a first watermark embedded in a first audio stream, the first watermark including a first source identifier and a first timing identifier, and detect a second watermark embedded in a second audio stream, the second watermark including a second source identifier and a second timing identifier. The disclosed example apparatus also include a controller to associate the first and second watermarks with a media detection event when both (1) the first and second source identifiers match and (2) the first and second timing identifiers are chronologically congruent. The disclosed example apparatus further include a transmitter to transmit the media detection event to a data collection facility.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CREDITING A MEDIA PRESENTATION DEVICE
Example apparatus disclosed herein are to identify encoded information present in audio obtained for a time period. Disclosed example apparatus are also to generate a signature of the audio for comparison with signatures of reference media. Disclosed example apparatus are also to generate a first determination that a media presentation device was in an off state during a first portion of the time period based on a gain level applied by an automatic gain controller to collect the audio. Disclosed example apparatus are also to override the first determination that the media presentation device was in the off state during the first portion of the time period with a second determination that the media presentation device was in an on state during the first portion of the time period, the second determination based on at least one of the encoded information or the signature.
