SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PHOTOTHERAPEUTIC MODULATION OF NITRIC OXIDE
Systems and methods for phototherapeutic modulation of nitric oxide in mammalian tissue include use of a first wavelength and first radiant flux of light to stimulate enzymatic generation of nitric oxide, and use of a second wavelength and second radiant flux of light to stimulate release of nitric oxide from endogenous stores of nitric oxide. Pulsed light and/or partially non-overlapping light impingement windows may be used. Non-coherent light impinged on tissue may include a peak wavelength in a range of from 410 nm to 440 nm in the absence of light emissions having a peak wavelength of from 600 nm to 900 nm.
LASER ASSISTED WOUND HEALING PROTOCOL AND SYSTEM
The present invention provides for devices and methods of treating wounds, including general wounds, gum disease and gingival tissues post scaling/root planning, using a diode laser which generates a beam of light having a wavelength in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum (400 nm-700 nm). Further disclosed are devices and methods capable of stimulating tissue regeneration at the site of a wound.
ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE COMPLIANCE MONITORING SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
The present invention relates generally to systems, devices, and methods for tracking compliance of orthodontic appliance usage, and more specifically to systems, devices, and methods for tracking compliance of orthodontic appliance usage using a compliance device and/or a light therapy apparatus. The invention provides compliances device that can be configured to be disposed within a patient's mouth. In some embodiments, the compliance device can comprise a sensor configured to detect an input associated with whether an orthodontic appliance is at least partially disposed within the patient's mouth at a first time and at a second time, with the second time being subsequent to the first time.
Methods and compositions for reversing or mitigating skin aging
A method for reversing or mitigating skin aging comprising topically applying a composition which comprises at least one oxidant, and at least one fluorescent dye capable of activating the oxidant and illuminating said composition for a time sufficient to activate the at least one oxidant.
Flexible Photobiomodulation and Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy Device
The present disclosure provides a combined Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy and Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapeutic device in the form of a flexible wearable that can be secured to a user's body part to apply targeted radiation to a desired area. The frequencies and pulse patterns of both types of radiation are controlled by a single controller of the device which can switch between a number of pre-set sequences and patterns. The device is wirelessly enabled to allow control via an external user device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF TREATING PAIN WITH EXTERNAL TRANS-ZYGOMATIC ARCH PHOTIC STIMULATION
The invention is method comprising the use of an external photic stimulator treat and/or prevent pain in a subject, such as migraine headache, dental pain, and/or other sources of cranial pain. The presently disclosed method includes treating the pain externally through the cheek, over the zygomatic arch and area of the trigeminal ganglion. The external photic stimulation is believed to inhibit excessive firing of trigeminal ganglion circuits, preventing the excessive expression of calcitonin gene-related peptides and/or other inflammatory manifestations of the pain.
SYSTEM FOR MONITORING THE SLEEP AND/OR WELL-BEING OF A PASSENGER OF AN AIRCRAFT AND METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING SUCH A SYSTEM
A system to manage the sleep and/or the well-being of a passenger/user of an aircraft includes a chair to be installed in a cabin of the aircraft and interaction devices to interact with the user. The system further includes a user terminal configured to receive data relating to characteristics of a user profile of the user, and a control/command module connected to the user terminal, interaction devices and a database storing information relating to characteristics of a flight of the aircraft. The command/control module being configured to pilot the interaction devices according to the data relating to characteristics of the user profile and characteristics of the flight of the aircraft.
COMPOSITION FOR ANTIMICROBIAL PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY
The present invention relates to a composition and a kit of parts for antimicrobial photodynamic therapy and uses of the same, the composition comprising (a) hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide and/or sodium hypochlorite and (b) at least one photosensitizer capable of being activated by light emitted in the blue spectrum, in particular curcumin, riboflavin and erythrosine.
Optical Stimulator
Systems are provided for compact implantable multi-site optical stimulation and/or combined electrical and optical stimulation of spinal cord, brain, dorsal root ganglion, peripheral nerve, or other tissue. High-power LEDs or other light-emitting elements are provided at the site of stimulation, avoiding complex fiber optics or other means for coupling light from a distant laser along a stimulator to target tissue. Colocation of electrical stimulation contacts and light emitters allows the same tissue to be stimulated electrically and optically, at the same time or according to an alternating or other pattern of combined electrical and optical stimulation. These stimulators can be used as part of permanently implanted systems and/or as part of temporary, percutaneous stimulator systems. Optical and/or combined electrical and optical stimulation can be provided for pain relief, to encourage wound healing in nervous or non-nervous tissue, or to provide other clinical benefits.
POST CECUM PHOTOTHERAPY
A system and method for identifying a post cecum position of an ingestible, phototherapeutic capsule traveling through a gastrointestinal (GI) tract to prevent intestinal blockage and facilitating deployment of additional phototherapeutic capsules in accordance with patient needs. The system employs an ex-vitro beacon in wireless communication with the capsule. The ex-vitro beacon is deployed in the vicinity of the McBurney's point to direct a beacon signal toward the cecum to identify capsule passage into the large intestine less prone to blockage.
