The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a method that includes identifying metadata related to television programming. The method further includes sending search requests that include the identified metadata to a search system for selecting at least one portable program module. The method further includes in response to a first one of the search requests, receiving first search results from the search system that identify the selected portable program module and outputting a representation of the selected portable program module to a display device for presentation concurrently with the television programming. The method further includes in response to a second one of the search requests, receiving second search results from the search system that no longer identify the selected portable program module and ceasing the output of the representation of the selected portable program module.

Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for unifying local channels with Over-the-Top (OTT) services (e.g., Internet-streaming media services). In one example aspect, a location is determined. Based on the determined location, a list of local channels available for broadcast in the geographic area is retrieved. The list of local channels is then compared to a list of channels offered via at least one OTT service. Based on the comparison with the OTT service channel offering, a subset of available local channels may be determined. The electronic programming guide (EPG) data and other programming metadata associated with the local channels may be downloaded and provided to the OTT service. The local channels, along with the EPG data and programming metadata, may be merged with the OTT service so that the local channels may be streamed via the OTT service.

Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for unifying local channels with Over-the-Top (OTT) services (e.g., Internet-streaming media services). The present invention relates to a digital broadcasting system for transmitting/receiving a digital broadcasting signal and a method of processing data. In one aspect of the present invention provides a method of processing data, the method including receiving a broadcasting signal in which mobile service data and main service data are multiplexed, demodulating the received broadcasting signal, obtaining an identifier indicating that data frame of the broadcasting signal includes service guide information, decoding and storing the service guide information from the data frame; and outputting a service included in the mobile service data according to the decoded service guide information.

The present invention relates to a digital broadcasting system for transmitting/receiving a digital broadcasting signal and a method of processing data. In one aspect of the present invention provides a method of processing data, the method including receiving a broadcasting signal in which mobile service data and main service data are multiplexed, demodulating the received broadcasting signal, obtaining an identifier indicating that data frame of the broadcasting signal includes service guide information, decoding and storing the service guide information from the data frame; and outputting a service included in the mobile service data according to the decoded service guide information.

A method for generating location-based advertisement includes receiving a selection of a first radio station from a user of a mobile device, receiving an electronic program guide from the first radio station including a plurality of advertisement time slots, where each advertisement time slot in the plurality of advertisement time slots includes an advertisement sequence for a first advertisement content, receiving a second advertisement content from a second radio station located in a geographic location matching a real-time geographic location of the user as determined by a location-based service of the mobile device, substituting the first advertisement content in the advertisement sequence of one of the plurality of advertisement time slots with the second advertisement content from the second radio station, and broadcasting the second advertisement content to the user via the mobile device.

A last symbol in a first one of the plurality of parts includes signaling information for decoding a second one of the plurality of parts. The transmitting method further includes transmitting the transmission frame using the processing circuitry.
