BROADCAST RESPONSE METHOD AND SYSTEM
A system and method for broadcast response generally employing RDS, DARC, or similar technology is provided, including a method for responding to a broadcast comprising extracting an event identifier from a broadcast signal; detecting a response by a user to the broadcast signal; polling a communications device to determine a user identifier; and communicating the event identifier and the user identifier when the user response is detected.
RADIO SYSTEM, VEHICLE INCLUDING SAME AND METHOD OF SETTING RADIO FREQUENCY
A radio system includes an audio device, and a control device operatively connected to the audio device to store a first radio frequency of the audio device as a preset frequency, wherein the control device may be configured to determine whether a second broadcast signal received through a second radio frequency is equal to a first broadcast signal received through the first radio frequency stored in a preset list when the second radio frequency of the audio device is added as the preset frequency, generate the preset list including the first and second radio frequencies when the first broadcast signal is different from the second broadcast signal, and generate the preset list including the first or second radio frequency when the first and second broadcast signals are broadcast signals of a same radio broadcast.
Method and apparatus for sensing inter-modulation to improve radio performance in single and dual tuner
A method of performing alternate frequency switching in a radio includes tuning the radio to a primary frequency. A candidate alternate frequency is identified. It is determined whether the candidate alternate frequency is a third order inter-modulation artifact. Tuning is switched from the primary frequency to the candidate alternate frequency only if it is determined in the determining step that the candidate alternate frequency is not a third order inter-modulation artifact.
Method for reception improvement of a FM tuner in a common channel situation
Embodiments of methods and systems for reception improvement of FM tuners are provided. An example method according to the disclosure includes receiving one or more FM broadcast signals in a common channel (Co-C) situation and provides for receiving one or more FM broadcast signals, selecting a preferred signal and outputting said signal as an IF signal. When a Co-C situation occurs, the method calculates a correlation of the one or more signals and outputs the signal showing a larger consistency value.
Methods and apparatus for enabling context sensitive interaction with distributed content
A method includes receiving a distributed radio signal at a wireless communications device (WCD) from a first service provider. The method includes generating a bookmark associated with a first content item included in the distributed radio signal. The bookmark is generated based on radio application data when the WCD is radio-enabled, and the bookmark is generated based on pseudo-radio application data when the WCD is not radio-enabled. The method also includes transmitting the bookmark and a content request associated with the first content item from the WCD to a content source.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECEIVING DIGITAL RADIO BROADCASTING
Provided are an apparatus and a method for receiving digital radio broadcasting. The apparatus according to the present invention includes: a communication unit including a GPS receiving module and a broadcasting receiving module; an output unit receiving and outputting the broadcasting signal through the broadcasting receiving module; and a service linking processing unit requesting service linking information based on current geolocation information received through the GPS receiving module and broadcasting service information included in the broadcasting signal when a receiving sensitivity of the broadcasting signal which is currently received is less than a predetermined reference value and performing service following based on the service linking information provided from a service linking providing server based on the current geolocation information, wherein the service linking information includes information on the same broadcasting service as a broadcasting service which is currently received.
Receiving device
A radio receiver includes: a plurality of tuners that receives a broadcast signal through separate antennas; phase shifters, an adder, and a phase diversity processing unit for adjusting and compositing a phase of an output signal of each tuner of the tuners; a demodulating unit that performs demodulation processing to an input signal; a noise component detecting unit that detects a predetermined noise component included in composited output of phase diversity; and a switching processing unit that sets the signal before the composition of the phase diversity to be an object to which the demodulating unit performs the demodulation processing when the detected noise component exceeds a threshold value, and sets the signal after the composition of the phase diversity to be the object to which the demodulating unit performs the demodulation processing when the noise component has not exceeded the threshold value.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONDITIONING A RADIO DATA SIGNAL FOR A BROADCAST RECEIVER
A method includes a step of reading in the radio data signal and a radio data clock signal, a step of integrating a signal that is a function of the radio data signal and/or the radio data clock signal in order to determine an integral value curve, a step of decoding radio data signal information from the integral value curve, using the radio data clock signal and/or a phase position of the radio data signal, a step of ascertaining radio data signal quality information which represents the credibility of the decoded radio data signal information, using the radio data signal and/or the phase position of the radio data signal, and a step of providing the radio data signal information and the radio data signal quality information in order to provide a conditioned radio data signal.
RADIO SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING A STATION LIST
A method for creating a station list for display in a radio system includes creating a station profile of at least one radio station, the station profile comprising at least one of geographical information, alternative frequencies, a Program Identification Code and Radio Data System data of the respective radio station, storing the at least one station profile and creating the station list based on a station profile of a currently received radio station and the at least one stored station profile.
