Audience attendance monitoring through facial recognition
In accordance with some implementations, a method for measuring viewership of media content is disclosed. The method is performed on a client system. The client system captures visual data of one or more users of the client system with the camera. The client system then analyzes the captured visual data to determine a facial image for each respective user of the one or more users. Based on the facial image, the client system then determines if a respective user is a participant in a media viewership study. In accordance with a determination that the user is a participant in the media viewership measurement study, the client system determines the media content being presented. The client system creates viewership data based on the user and the media content being displayed in the proximity of the user and transmits viewership data to a server system.
REAL-TIME AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Techniques for real-time audience measurement are provided. The techniques include instant message protocol in a DVR environment to obtain real-time audience measurement data to modify the scheduled recording time of a media content in real-time, to bookmark in real-time, and to gather audience ratings on commercials and viewership in real-time.
Broadcast response system
A broadcast response system provides, e.g., a radio broadcast listener with the ability to obtain media content such as music or speech while listening to the radio. The user can respond to items in the radio broadcast such as advertisements, fund raising drives, or interactive listener polls during the broadcast. Data such as song title and artist, author or publisher and the IP address for the location where the digital version of the content is stored, can be transmitted using, e.g., the RBDS/RDS data stream. A reference number representing song title and artist, author or publisher and the IP address for the location where the digital version of the content is stored can also be employed for ease of implementation. This reference number can reside in a lookup table to be accessed by broadcast response server.
Receiving device, receiving method, program, and information processing system
A receiving device includes: a receiver configured to receive AV content; a feature extractor configured to extract a feature from data of the received AV content; an identification result acquirer configured to acquire an identification result of the AV content identified from the extracted feature by using an Automatic Content Recognition technique; a command acquirer configured to acquire a command for controlling operation of an application program run in conjunction with the AV content in accordance with the acquired identification result; and a controller configured to control operation of the application program in accordance with the acquired command.
METHOD, DEVICE AND SYSTEM OF ENCODING A DIGITAL INTERACTIVE RESPONSE ACTION IN AN ANALOG BROADCASTING MESSAGE
Disclosed are a method, a device and a system of generation of a modified digital media file based on a encoding of a digital media file with a decodable data such that the decodable data is indistinguishable through a human ear from a primary audio stream. In one embodiment, a method of an audio encoding system includes validating a user of the audio encoding system as a publisher, associating a response action to a message of the user, the response action is at least one of a call-back action, a web-form action, and a resource-page redirect action using a processor and a memory, generating a unique identifier through a hash function applied to the response action associated with the message of the user, encoding a digital media file associated with the message with a decodable data using the unique identifier such that the decodable data is indistinguishable from a primary audio stream through a human ear, and generating a modified digital media file associated with the digital media file based on the encoding of the message with the decodable data such that the decodable data is indistinguishable from a primary audio stream through the human ear.
INTERACTIVE DATA COMMUNICATION WITH ACOUSTIC SIGNAL COMMUNICATION
A composite signal having frequencies within a sonic first frequency bandwidth may be received from a communication media on a receiver. The composite signal may include an audio base signal and at least one code signal. The code signal may be encoded with a code. The composite signal may be output on a speaker, the speaker converting the composite signal into sound. While outputting the composite signal, a signal processing device may detect the output sound corresponding to the code signal. The code may be determined from the detected output sound corresponding to the code signal. Data associated with the code may be retrieved from a data storage device that is internal to or remote from the signal processing device. The retrieved data, when displayed on a display device, may be selected by a user. The signal processing device may automatically send signal-processing-device-specific data to a remote server when the code is determined or when the user inputs an input using the displayed code-associated data.
METHOD, SYSTEM, MOBILE DEVICE, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR VALIDATING RIGHTS OBJECTS
A method, system, mobile device, apparatus and computer program product are provided for accurately determining whether one or more rights objects associated with a mobile device are valid. In particular, a secure time source (e.g., DRM clock or time) may be maintained by the mobile device and used to check the validity of the one or more rights objects. In order to ensure that the secure time source or clock remains accurate, the mobile device may update the secure time source by regularly requesting and receiving the DVB-H network time from a DVB-H network entity. Because the DVB-H network time is secure, accurate and readily accessible, it provides an ideal tool for correcting possible drift in the mobile device's secure time source.
Audience attendance monitoring through facial recognition
In accordance with some implementations, a method for measuring viewership of media content is disclosed. The method is performed on a client system. The client system obtains identification information for individuals who have agreed to participate in a media viewership totals measurement study, detects a first user of the client system, determines media content being presented in proximity to the first user, automatically determines if the first user is an individual who has agreed to participate in the media viewership totals measurement study; and generates viewership data according to the determination.
RELAY DEVICE, METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM
A relay device operable to relay emergency information to a plurality of mobile terminals. The device includes: a receiver configured in use to receive a broadcast signal, the broadcast signal being in a first format and containing the emergency information; a transmitter configured in use to connect to the plurality of mobile terminals using a communication channel; and a processor configured in use to provide the emergency information received in the broadcast signal to the plurality of mobile terminals in a second format using the transmitter, wherein the second format is different to the first format.
UNINTERRUPTED SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS DURING VEHICLE MOVEMENT
A satellite receiver in a vehicle continues to receive satellite communications even when line-of-sight to the satellite becomes obscured by obtaining a stream of the satellite broadcast via an ad hoc network. When the satellite receiver determines that the satellite broadcast signal is being lost (or is about to be lost), the satellite receiver transmits a request message on an alternate wireless channel seeking an alternate source for the satellite media program. Another satellite receiver that is able to receive the broadcast replies to the request message, and an ad hoc communication session is established with the alternate source via an alternate wireless channel. The receiver is therefore able to receive the media program from the alternate source via the ad hoc session instead of the satellite broadcast signal.
