SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING BENEFITS BASED ON MO SERVICE
20180040013 · 2018-02-08 · ·

The present invention relates to a system and method for providing benefits based on MO service, and there is provided a benefit providing system based on MO service, the system including: a service apparatus for identifying, if an event participation message including a Message Oriented (MO) identification is received, broadcast contents corresponding to the MO identification, setting recommended benefit information based on the identified broadcast contents or corresponding user information, and creating a response message including a service connection address capable of connecting to the set recommended benefit information.

Relay device, method and computer program

A relay device operable to relay emergency information to a plurality of mobile terminals. The device includes: a receiver configured in use to receive a broadcast signal, the broadcast signal being in a first format and containing the emergency information; a transmitter configured in use to connect to the plurality of mobile terminals using a communication channel; and a processor configured in use to provide the emergency information received in the broadcast signal to the plurality of mobile terminals in a second format using the transmitter, wherein the second format is different to the first format.

Techniques for real-time audience measurement are provided. The techniques include instant message protocol in a DVR environment to obtain real-time audience measurement data to modify the scheduled recording time of a media content in real-time, to bookmark in real-time, and to gather audience ratings on commercials and viewership in real-time.

Addressable realtime messaging for television receivers

Systems, devices and methods are provided to deliver messages between a television distributor and groups of television receivers. A data processing system provides a message exchange service that routes messages to any number of queues based upon various routing keys. Each of the customer-operated television receivers establishes a queue with the routing service that is bound to any number of routing keys. Keys may be selected based upon characteristics of the receiver, geographic factors, demographic factors, subscribed services, customer preferences or the like. When a service wants to send a message to a particular group, it sends the message to the group's routing key, and the routing service delivers the messages to each of the receivers bound to that particular key.

Information providing system, identification information resolution server and mobile terminal device

An information providing system includes a sound emission device for emitting, as sound wave, identification information modulated into a sound signal, an identification information resolution server including a mapping table in which the identification information, valid time information and the address information of a content are stored to be associated, and a mobile terminal device for transmitting the identification information demodulated from a picked-up sound wave to the identification information resolution server thereby obtaining address information and accessing the content using the obtained address information. When received the identification information from the mobile terminal device, the identification information resolution server returns the address information of a corresponding content to the mobile terminal device when the time information is within a valid time.

Method and system for achieving continued listening experience for car radio head unit

A method of operating a radio in a vehicle includes tuning the radio to a first radio source. Information identifying the first radio source is transmitted from the vehicle to a remote processor. The processor monitors broadcast content of the first radio source on a web site. The processor identifies a second radio source having broadcast content matching the broadcast content of the first radio source. Information identifying the second radio source is transmitted from the processor to the vehicle. When a quality of a broadcast signal from the first radio source received at the vehicle falls below a threshold quality level, tuning of the radio is switched from the first radio source to the second radio source.

Method and apparatus for satellite television service with alternate delivery capabilities

A distribution system for transmitting media content programs to premises equipment via a satellite transmission path addresses signal degradation caused by atmospheric conditions and other factors. Upon detection of a degradation of the satellite signal, the system may begin transmitting the content using an alternative signal path, such as a terrestrial IP network. The satellite transmission path is brought back on line after the satellite link is restored. Alternatively, the system may begin recording the signal in the media distribution system for transmission via the satellite link after the link is restored.

System and Method for On-Demand Storage of Randomly Selected Data

A data storage system allows a subscriber to store data at the time the subscriber experiences the date with an indication, such as a press of a button or a voice command. The indication causes a request to obtain and store the data to be issued. For example, the subscriber can store music while listening to it, store or request movies while viewing them, or store movie soundtracks while viewing movies. The entire music file can be stored, for example, in a vehicle in which the subscriber is traveling. For some environments, such as storage in a cellular telephone, a portion of the music is stored in a format compatible for that environment, such as cellular telephone ring tone format. When the indication is received, a determination is made as to which music is required, generally by determining the time of the indication. The music heard by the listener is then downloaded for storage in accordance with the subscriber's request. Movies, songs or soundtracks can be stored when they are viewed or heard, for example, while in a movie theater.

In accordance with some implementations, a method for measuring viewership of media content is disclosed. The method is performed on a client system. The client system obtains identification information for individuals who have agreed to participate in a media viewership totals measurement study, detects a first user of the client system, determines media content being presented in proximity to the first user, automatically determines if the first user is an individual who has agreed to participate in the media viewership totals measurement study; and generates viewership data according to the determination.

DEVELOPING AND USING A VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC DISTRIBUTED DATABASE
20170169625 · 2017-06-15 ·

Described herein is a system and method of use for a vehicle diagnostic distributed database. One or more central servers are configured with a database containing diagnostic information pertaining to vehicles and relative to input received by the central server/s from client devices. The central server is configured to upload and download information with in-vehicle and external to vehicle diagnostic systems. These tasks are performed by first having the central server/s broadcast a message over open airways (for example, FM sidebands) to all potential client devices of interest. The message contains information identifying specific characteristics of client devices that should respond and further information about the information that is desired to be uploaded to the central server/s or for downloaded to the clients of interest. If clients meet the broadcast criteria, they then establish two-way communication with the central server/s and fulfill the request.
