SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTERFERENCE DETECTION IN SHARED SPECTRUM CHANNELS
A communication system, includes a satellite receiver in operable communication with a central server, a cellular node configured to operate within a proximity of the satellite receiver, and at least one mobile communication device configured to communicate (i) with the cellular node, (ii) within the proximity of the satellite receiver, and (iii) using a transmission signal capable of causing interference to the satellite receiver. The satellite receiver is configured to detect a repeating portion of the transmission signal and determine a potential for interference from the at least one mobile communication device based on the detected repeating portion.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INCREASING PERFORMANCE OF COMMUNICATION PATHS FOR COMMUNICATION NODES
A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, obtaining performance measurements, identifying a performance measurement from the performance measurements that is below performance threshold and, in turn, initiating corrective action to improve the performance measurement of an affected network element falling below the performance threshold. The performance measurements can be determined from measurements associated with signals generated by communication devices, noise levels in a spectral portion used by communication devices to transmit the signals, and interference signals exceeding an adaptive inter-cell interference threshold. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Facilitation of self-adjusting network uplink noise balancing
Compensation is provided for foreign interference within a cell. Uplink (UL) noise on an UL channel to a first base station (BS) device is detected. Whether the UL noise includes interference is determined. Interference can include any device other than a mobile device configured to communicate with a BS device associated with a cell. The first service area of the BS device can be modified, e.g., scaled based on determining that the UL noise includes interference. Scaling can include reducing the first service area to a second service area that does not include an imbalance region in the first service area caused by the foreign interference. Scaling can be effected by reducing the amount of downlink power from the first BS device, or by adjusting a re-selection parameter associated with reducing the range of the BS device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SIGNAL INTERFERENCE AVOIDANCE
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting an interferer having a periodic time of recurrence and a periodic spectral frequency range, identifying a spectral segment of a plurality of spectral segments of a wideband radio system having a time of occurrence and an operating frequency range that overlaps with the periodic time of recurrence and the periodic spectral frequency range of the interferer, identifying a communication device utilizing the spectral segment for transmitting data in accordance with a segment schedule assigned to the communication device, and generating an updated segment schedule by modifying the segment schedule of the communication device to avoid utilizing an affected portion of the spectral segment during the periodic time of recurrence and the periodic spectral frequency range of the interferer. Other embodiments are disclosed.
RF Signal Separation and Suppression System and Method
A method of separating a desired signal from an undesired signal includes obtaining a total input signal comprising the desired signal and the undesired signal in a time domain occupying a time duration from time t.sub.1 to time t.sub.2 of a single symbol in the desired signal. A transform is performed of the total input signal wherein an output of the transform is a time domain signal representing the desired signal.
Method and user equipment for receiving downlink signal, and method and base station for transmitting downlink signal
A method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving a downlink signal in a wireless communication system are provided. Carrier information about a second carrier that is different from a first carrier can be transmitted on the first carrier. Downlink data for UE can be transmitted on the second carrier based on the carrier information. The first carrier is a carrier having a synchronisation signal and a physical broadcast channel, and the second carrier can be a carrier without any synchronisation signals or physical broadcast channels. The first carrier can be operated on a single resource block in a guard frequency that is used in the wireless communication system.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SIGNAL INTERFERENCE PROCESSING
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining that a number of interferers in a portion of a number of spectral segments exceeds a number of filters of a number of filters. Use of the number of filters to filter interference is prioritized responsive to the number of interferers exceeding the number of filters. Interference is filtered in the portion of the number of spectral segments for suppressing at least a portion of the detected interference.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTERFERENCE MITIGATION UTILIZING ANTENNA PATTERN ADJUSTMENTS
A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may perform, for example, a method for receiving interference information, identifying a plurality of interferers, approximating a location of the plurality of interferers, and adjusting an antenna pattern of an antenna. The method can include determining traffic loads and adjusting the antenna pattern according to the traffic loads. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Transmitter and methods therein for transmitting overlaid and underlaid signals
A transmitter 108 and a method therein for transmitting overlaid and underlaid signals to a narrowband receiver 112 and a wideband receiver 110. The transmitter and the receivers operate in a wireless communications network 100. The transmitter generates a narrowband signal carrying data for the narrowband receiver. The narrowband signal is generated by: mapping user code bits of the data to a first set of binary symbols; generating a second set of binary symbols by precoding the first set of binary symbols; rotating the binary symbols of the second set resulting in rotated constellation symbols; and filtering the rotated constellation symbols. Further, the transmitter generates a wideband signal carrying data for the wideband receiver. Furthermore, the transmitter overlays the generated narrowband signal over the generated wideband signal and transmits, to the narrowband receiver and the wideband receiver, the overlaid narrowband signal and the underlaid wideband signal, respectively.
