DISCOVERING PHYSICAL CELL IDENTIFIERS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
Aspects of the present disclosure describe discovering physical cell identifiers in wireless communications. It can be determined to discover a physical cell identifier of one or more cells in a zone based at least in part on detecting a condition. A cell-specific signal can be received from at least one cell of the one or more cells in the zone. The cell-specific signal can be associated with one of a plurality of cell-specific signal hypotheses. The physical cell identifier of the at least one cell can be determined as one of a plurality of physical cell identifiers that corresponds to the one of the plurality of cell-specific signal hypotheses.
METHOD OF MEASURING SMALL CELL BASED ON DISCOVERY SIGNAL, AND USER EQUIPMENT
The present disclosure provides a method of measuring a small cell based on a discovery signal. The method may include the step of receiving a discovery signal measurement timing configuration (DMTC) for a neighboring small cell. In this step, the DMTC may include DMTC periodicity information and information on a discovery signal occasion section. The information on the discovery signal occasion section may indicate one or more sub-frames in which the discovery signal occurs. The method may include the step of measuring the neighboring small cell for a measurement gap in the case where the neighboring small cell operates at a frequency that is different from a serving cell.
Efficient transmission of a response signal for a random access preamble transmitted from legacy or extension carrier capable devices
In order to provide a transmission device and transmission method with which a response signal for random access preamble transmitted from a preamble transmission device is efficiently transmitted, setting unit in base station sets a first resource candidate group, which enables terminal capable of receiving a latch response transmitted by demodulation reference signal (DMRS) transmission to be selected, and a second resource candidate group, which enables terminal incapable of receiving a latch response transmitted by DMRS transmission but capable of receiving a latch response transmitted by cell-specific reference signal (CRS) transmission to be selected. Control unit selects DMRS transmission as the latch response transmission method when a resource in which latch preamble has been received is included in the first candidate group, but selects CRS transmission as the latch response transmission method when the resource is included in the second resource candidate group.
Cell measurements in unlicensed frequency bands
This disclosure relates to performing cell measurements in unlicensed frequency bands and/or in channels with interference. According to some embodiments, a wireless user equipment (UE) device may define a reference symbol vector for a cell. Each respective element of the reference symbol vector may correspond to a respective subcarrier of the cell that carries a respective reference symbol. The UE may perform channel estimation at each respective element of the reference symbol vector. The UE may estimate the cell strength of the cell by cross-correlating channel estimates of different elements of the reference symbol vector.
Reception apparatus and reception method
Method of scrambling signals, transmission point device, and user equipment using the method are provided. The method includes: sending an ID table to a user equipment through higher layer signaling, the ID table being a subset of the whole ID space and containing available IDs for the user equipment; notifying the user equipment an ID in the ID table to be used through physical layer signaling or UE specific higher layer signaling; generating a random seed based on the notified ID; initializing a scrambling sequence by the random seed; and scrambling the signals with the initialized scrambling sequence. The method of the disclosure, by combining physical layer signaling and higher layer signaling, may notify the used group ID and the blind detection space to a UE, wherein the blind detection for the UE is enabled and the signaling overhead is reduced.
New Messaging Scheme For Positioning
A method of providing position assistance to a UE, the method comprising providing, by a location server, at least one unsolicited message, each message comprising one of data selected from a list comprising GNSS ephemeris assistance data, GNSS acquisition assistance data, OTDOA assistance data and eNB position data for a predefined area.
Method and apparatus for reference signaling allocation and channel estimation in distributed antenna systems
An apparatus and method for transmitting reference signals in a communication system are provided. The method includes transmitting common reference signals of a first type from a transmitter to a plurality of receivers; transmitting receiver-specific reference signals of a second type from a plurality of distributed ports to a subset of the plurality of receivers; wherein the common reference signals of the first type and the receiver-specific reference signals of the second type are allocated to different resources from one another, and wherein the communication system includes the transmitter and the plurality of receivers and the transmitter uses a plurality of central ports and the plurality of distributed ports to transmit to the plurality of receivers.

A method and apparatus for implementing reference signal transmissions in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes the cell, transmission point (TP), or transmission and reception point (TRP) broadcasting a first RS periodically for measurement, wherein the first RS is transmitted at multiple occasions (or timings) in each period on different beams. The method also includes the cell, TP, or TRP transmitting a second RS to a UE for PDCCH demodulation, wherein the second RS is transmitted on multiple beams in a beam set of the UE in a subframe (or symbol) in which the PDCCH is transmitted.
