THERAPY SYSTEM FOR CANCER AND OTHER DISEASES
[Problem]
The therapy method and the therapy apparatus for difficult cancer such as ductal cancer and other diseases.
[Solution to Problem]
The therapy and the apparatus to beat cancer and other diseases by injecting the material which is energy receptive from outside and emissive heat to cancer cells in the body of a patient, and giving energy from outside.
BRACHYTHERAPY TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SYSTEM
Misconnected applicators are eliminated in a brachytherapy treatment system by associating the output channels of an afterloader with the channel numbers after the applicators have been coupled to the output channels. In addition, the brachytherapy treatment system ensures the delivery of a proper dose by identifying the exact locations of the distal ends of the applicators right before the radiation treatment is to begin, and determining the final dose based on the exact locations.
RADIOACTIVE CONDUJIT AND METHOD FOR IN VIVO TREATMENT OF TUMORS
The invention provides a system for the in vivo treatment of diseased tissue, the system comprising a first longitudinally extending surface and a second longitudinally extending surface coaxial to the first longitudinally extending surface to form a medicament carrying vehicle, wherein the vehicle defines a tunnel adapted to allow physiological fluid to pass through the vehicle. Also provided is method for treating, in vivo, diseased tissue, the method comprising inserting a housing into a tumor excision site and removably sliding a medicament vehicle within the vehicle so as to be encapsulated by the housing.
CUSTOMIZABLE RADIOACTIVE CARRIERS AND LOADING SYSTEM
Carriers for embodying radioactive seeds, as well as a device for loading and customizing brachytherapy carriers based on the principles of optimizing a more precise and predictable dosimetry, and adaptable to the geometric challenges of a tumor bed in a real-time setting. The present disclosure relates to a specialized loading device designed to enable a medical team to create a radionuclide carrier for each patient and tumor reliably, reproducibly and efficiently.
Polymer coatings for brachytherapy devices
An apparatus includes a support, including an outer surface and configured for insertion into a body of a subject. The apparatus further includes multiple atoms of a radionuclide, which radioactively decays to produce a daughter radionuclide, coupled to the outer surface, and a layer of a polymer, which covers the atoms so as to protect the atoms from being washed away, yet allows diffusion of the daughter radionuclide through the layer. Other embodiments are also described.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR REGISTERING AND TRACKING ORGANS DURING INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURES
Systems, methods, and devices are provided for assisting or performing guided interventional procedures using. The system uses pre-procedure scans of a patient's anatomy to identify targets and critical structures. A measurement device containing position indicating elements or fiducials is placed in a pre-existing or physician created conduit or lumen whose geometry is known from a scan. During a procedure, the pre-procedure scans may be registered to the patient using the position indicating elements or fiducials and the geometry of the conduit. This registration may be used in an intervention to guide instruments that can obtain diagnostic information or provide therapy to the identified targets. During the procedure, the position indicating elements may be used to dynamically compensate for motion to further improve accuracy.
Compositions, devices and kits for selective internal radiation therapy
Systems, kits and methods for preparing an injection system and/or treating target lesions with a selective internal radiation therapy which includes a double-barrel syringe loaded with a two-component tissue glue and radioisotope loaded microspheres. The microspheres are loaded into the syringe based on the size of the target location and are administered with a needle or dual-lumen catheter. Dosing regimens for treating breast cancer lesions or surgical beds up to 130 mm in diameter and hepatocellular carcinoma lesions up to 50 mm are included.
BIOABSORBABLE STAPLE COMPRISING MECHANISM FOR DELAYING THE ABSORPTION OF THE STAPLE
A surgical staple comprising a substrate and one or more coatings which delay the bioabsorption of the substrate. The coating can be selected so as to affect the environment surrounding the staple once the staple is implanted in the patient. The effect on the environment can cause the bioabsorption to occur within a desired time frame.
CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLIES WITH ABSORBABLE METAL STAPLES AND ABSORBABLE IMPLANTABLE ADJUNCTS
A staple cartridge assembly includes a cartridge body with a deck, a longitudinal slot defined in the deck, and staple cavities defined in the deck. The staple cartridge assembly includes staples removably stored in the staple cavities, wherein the staples are deployable from the staple cavities into tissue of a patient, and wherein the staples comprise substrates comprised of metal that degrades when exposed to a degradation source in the patient. The staple cartridge assembly includes an implantable adjunct, wherein the staples are configured to hold the implantable adjunct to the tissue, and wherein the implantable adjunct is configured to delay an initiation of the degradation of regions of the metal in contact with the implantable adjunct in the patient, and wherein the implantable adjunct is configured to modify a local environment surrounding the staples to control a degradation rate of the staples after the initial delay.
STAPLE CARTRIDGE COMPRISING LUBRICATED STAPLES
A staple cartridge comprising staples that are lubricated before they are loaded into the staple cartridge and after they have been loaded into the staple cartridge is disclosed.
