Threat response signal inhibiting apparatus for radio frequency controlled devices and corresponding methods
09716566 · 2017-07-25 ·

An apparatus (100) includes a canine harness (101) with a radio frequency inhibitor (400). A leash (1002) can serve as a control device (102). The leash can selectively mechanically couple to the canine harness and electrically couple an actuator (114) to the radio frequency inhibitor. When the actuator is actuated, the radio frequency inhibitor is to emit one or more radio frequency inhibition signals (405), which can include the emission of all programmed signals simultaneously. Radio frequency inhibitors can also be integrated into clothing or armor (1802), as well as equipment (1901). The radio frequency inhibitor can interrupt, suppress, or halt electronic detonation communications to an explosive device.

INTERFERENCE MITIGATION IN WLAN/WPAN CO-EXISTENCE NETWORKS

This invention generally relates to interference mitigation, and more specifically to interference mitigation in wireless communications networks. The proposed solution takes advantage of the clear channel assessment (CCA) function used by WLAN networks. Hence, by jamming the interfering WLAN channel during a predetermined time period, the interfering WLAN network is forced to withhold transmissions on the WLAN interfering channel during a backoff period of time. The solution of the subject application makes use of this backoff period to enable a WPAN network to transmit critical information such as, but not limited to, a request for changing the current working frequency.

Waveform-enabled jammer excision (WEJE)

A method for waveform-enabled jammer excision (WEJE) may include performing a jammer measurement during a look-through window when no signal-of-interest (SOI) is present and obtaining a jammer signal. A SOI-plus-jammer measurement may be performed and a SOI-plus-Jammer signal may be obtained when both the jammer signal and the SOI are present. Optimal weights that maximize a SOI-to-jammer power ratio may be determined. SOI-plus-jammer signals from a number of antenna elements may be optimally weighted and combined to copy the SOI and null the jammer signal based on the determined optimal weights.

Sound zone arrangement with zonewise speech suppression

A system and method for arranging sound zones in a room including a listener's position and a speaker's position with a multiplicity of loudspeakers disposed in the room and a multiplicity of microphones disposed in the room. The method includes establishing, in connection with the multiplicity of loudspeakers, a first sound zone around the listener's position and a second sound zone around the speaker's position, and determining, in connection with the multiplicity of microphones, parameters of sound conditions present in the first sound zone. The method further includes generating in the first sound zone, in connection with the multiplicity of loudspeakers, and based on the determined sound conditions in the first sound zone, speech masking sound that is configured to reduce common speech intelligibility in the second sound zone.

A method for communication includes generating a data transmission for transmission to a target receiver, and generating at least one jamming transmission having an amplitude that changes multiple times during the data transmission. The data transmission is transmitted to the target receiver using an antenna array, and the at least one jamming transmission is simultaneously transmitted using the antenna array.

System and method for defined area sound masking

In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, a sound masking system is used to produce a sound masking zone in the vicinity of a defined area, for example in an area surrounding a conference room, an area within a medical office, or an area within a place of worship. A screen of loudspeakers around the defined area is used to create the sound masking zone. An indicator light, outside the defined area and unique to the sound masking zone around the defined area, is used to indicate that the sound masking system is active or ramping up.

INHIBITING UNAUTHORISED CONTACTLESS READING OF CONTACTLESS READABLE OBJECT
20170147842 · 2017-05-25 ·

A jamming device for inhibiting unauthorised contactless reading of a contactless readable object is disclosed. In one embodiment, the jamming device includes: an antenna for receiving an interrogation signal from a reader device; a touch sensitive interface; and a circuit electrically connected to the antenna and the touch sensitive interface, wherein the circuit is configured to: operate in a first mode to generate and emit a jamming signal, via the antenna, in response to receiving the interrogation signal whilst the touch sensitive interface fails to indicate a touch event; and operate in a second mode whilst the touch sensitive interface indicates a touch event, wherein the jamming signal is not emitted via the antenna in response to receiving the interrogation signal whilst operating in the second mode. A card carrying object, system and method is also disclosed.

Electromagnetic Spectrum Management System

A system for transmitting a wireless countermeasure signal to disrupt third party communications is disclosed that include an antenna configured to receive wireless signals and transmit wireless counter measure signals such that the wireless countermeasure signals are responsive to the received wireless signals. A receiver processes the received wireless signals to create processed received signal data while a spectrum control module subtracts known source signal data from the processed received signal data to generate unknown source signal data. The unknown source signal data is based on unknown wireless signals, such as enemy signals. A transmitter is configured to process the unknown source signal data to create countermeasure signals and transmit a wireless countermeasure signal over the first antenna or a second antenna to thereby interfere with the unknown wireless signals.
