RFID remote antenna security system
09594934 · 2017-03-14 · ·

A remote antenna security system for preventing unauthorized reading of RFID cards. The RFID remote antenna security system generally includes at least one remote contact in communication with a remote antenna. A carrier member is provided that includes at least one contact and a tag that is in communication with the at least one contact. When the contact of the carrier member is physically connected to the remote contact of the remote unit, the radio waves received by the remote antenna are communicated to the tag and the tag transmits radio waves including data from the remote antenna for reading by the reader.

Relay attack countermeasure system

An apparatus for preventing a relay attack that includes a microcontroller, a receiver, and a transmitter. The receiver is configured to receive a challenge message from a verifier. The challenge message has a challenge message frequency at a first challenge message frequency during a first time slot. The transmitter is configured to transmit a response message to the verifier. The response message has a response message frequency at a first response message frequency during the first time slot. The first response message frequency is different than the first challenge message frequency. The challenge message frequency is at a second challenge message frequency and the response message frequency is at a second response message frequency during a second time slit. The second challenge message frequency is different than the second response message frequency.

JAMMER RESILIENT UWB COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A device includes a first radio controller configured to communicate using a first protocol, and a pseudo random number generator configured to generate a pseudo random output value based on an input data value. The device includes a processor configured to determine a preamble code based on an output of the pseudo random number generator, and process a data packet received using the first radio controller using the preamble code to generate a processed data packet.

Automated banking machine that outputs interference signals to jam reading ability of unauthorized card reader devices

A banking system is controlled responsive to data read from data bearing records. The system comprises an automated banking machine. The machine includes at least one type of data reader, which includes a card reader. The machine also includes an anti-fraud arrangement that can deter effective operation of unauthorized devices attached to the machine. Such unauthorized devices may include a fraudulent card reader placed adjacent to a card entry slot that leads to the card reader. The arrangement can sense a fraudulent card reader installed on the machine. The arrangement can additionally emit jamming signals that interfere with an ability of a sensed fraudulent card reader to accurately read card data.

Cross-modality electromagnetic signature analysis for radio frequency persona identification

Systems and methods can support identifying multiple radio transmitters as being integrated within a single communications device. Radio frequency signals may be collected using one or more sensors incorporating radio receivers. A first radio frequency signature and a second radio frequency signature may be identified within one or more of the radio frequency signals as originating respectively from a first radio transmitter and a second radio transmitter. Characteristics of the first and second radio frequency signatures may be analyzed to evaluate a relationship between the first and second radio frequency signatures. It may be determined whether or not the first and second radio transmitters are integrated within a common wireless electronic device based upon the evaluated relationship between the first radio frequency signature and the second radio frequency signature. Characteristics and behaviors associated with the wireless electronic device may be determined therefrom.

A system and method provided for detecting or mitigating distance attacks against real-time location systems for determining a position of a remote device relative to an object or device. The system and method may utilize phase coherency in conjunction with a time of arrival estimate as a basis for detecting or mitigating distance attacks.

ONSTAR JAMMING DETECTION USING INTERNAL VEHICLE CELLULAR RECEIVED STRENGTH SIGNAL INDICATOR BASIS

A vehicle includes a system that performs a method for preventing a theft of the vehicle. The system includes a communication device and a processor. The communication device is configured to receive an observed signal within a selected radio frequency band. The processor is configured to measure a strength of the observed signal, measure a quality of the observed signal, calculate a correlation coefficient between the strength of the observed signal and the quality of the observed signal, attempt to establish a heartbeat signal via a cellular network when the correlation coefficient meets a selected coefficient threshold, determine the observed signal to be a jamming signal when the heartbeat signal is not established, and control the vehicle to execute a preventative action for preventing the theft of the vehicle when the observed signal is determined to be the jamming signal.
