Time-reversal wireless paradigm for internet of things

A method of connecting devices to a network is provided. The method includes providing base stations connected to a network, and at each of the base stations, receiving probe signals from terminal devices. For each of the terminal devices, the base station calculates a signature waveform based on a time-reversed waveform of a channel response signal derived from the corresponding probe signal. For each of the terminal devices, the base station determines a downlink transmit signal for the terminal device based on the downlink data and the corresponding signature waveform, and transmits the downlink signals to the terminal devices. Several base stations have overlapping broadcast regions, several terminal devices are located within the overlapped broadcast regions, the base stations transmit the downlink signals using a same frequency band, and some downlink signals transmitted by base stations having overlapping broadcast regions also overlap in time.

In a method for serial communication of data frames between nodes connected by a bus system, the transmitter and receiver roles are assigned to the nodes for each data frame by the arbitration procedure defined in the CAN-Standard ISO 11898-1. The exchanged data frames, which include multiple bits, have a logical structure according to the CAN-Standard ISO 11898-1, including a Start-Of-Frame-Bit, an Arbitration Field, a Control Field, a Data Field, a CRC Field, an Acknowledge Field and an End-Of-Frame Field. Each bit has a bit time which is divided into Time Segments. In response to a predefined value of a specific bit within the Control Field a first node of a first node group restarts its protocol decoding state machine and waits until it has synchronized itself to the bus activity and a second node of a second node group communicates using CAN FD Specification protocol.

There is provided a method comprising estimating bit rate information for first traffic if said first traffic were to be routed between a user equipment which is attached to a first network and a network access point of a second network and determining if said first traffic is to be routed between said user equipment and said network access point in dependence on said estimated bit rate information.

Selecting Antenna Combination

According to an example, an AP may obtain an influence index for each of antenna combinations, and determine antenna combinations whose influence indices are smaller than or equal to a pre-determined threshold to be valid antenna combinations. The antenna combinations may include antennas not more than the maximum number of transmitting links supported by the AP. Each influence index may indicate the influence of an antenna combination on default antenna combinations of neighboring APs operating on the same channel. The AP may adjust the available transmission rates supported by the AP according to the largest number of antennas in the valid antenna combinations. The AP may select a transmission rate from the range for a frame, determine the number of antennas corresponding to the selected transmission rate, and select an antenna combination in which the number of antennas equals the determined number of antennas from the valid antenna combinations for transmitting the frame.

A communication device stores a master rate table, which comprises a plurality of rows that correspond to i) respective data rates, and ii) respective sets of communication parameter values corresponding to the respective sets of data rates. Each set of communication parameter values includes i) a default value of a parameter, and iii) one or more alternative values of the parameter. When the communication device determines that a new transmission rate should be used, and when a current set of communication parameter values corresponds to a row in the master rate table and includes the default value, the communication device selects a trial set of communication parameter values corresponding to the row of the master rate table, and including one of the alternative values. The communication device measures an error rate measure corresponding to use of the trial set of communication parameter values.

The present disclosure is directed generally to systems and methods for dynamically selecting a retransmission rate for communication between two devices. The retransmission rate may be selected after a transmission has failed between the devices. In some embodiments, the retransmission rate may be selected based on relative velocity of the devices. In some embodiments, the retransmission rate may be selected based on transmission channel characteristics. The retransmission rate may be selected such that the retransmission will be less than an allowable transmission rate based on a distance between the two devices.
