Automatic retransmission and error recovery for packet oriented point-to-multipoint communication
A method and an apparatus for automatic retransmission and error recovery for packet oriented point to multipoint communication, which integrates adaptive and dynamic responsiveness for parameters for automatic retransmission using wireless communication, are provided. A wireless communication link is divided into a downstream portion and an upstream portion. Parameters are selected for automatic retransmission independently for the downstream portion and the upstream portion of the wireless communication link. A BSC controls the selection of parameters for automatic retransmission for all CPE within a cell. As part of a TDD frame, in which the BSC and the CPE share communication bandwidth using a TDMA technique, the BSC includes its selection of parameters for automatic retransmission to be used by CPE within a control section of the TDD frame. The BSC dynamically and adaptively determines new selected parameters for automatic retransmission, in response to a wireless communication link with each independent CPE.

Method of processing an error during the rendering of a digital content
A method is provided for processing an error during restitution of digital content during a multimedia session on a terminal. The session offers a plurality of representations of the digital content which are described in a medium carrying information describing the multimedia session and transmitted independently of the representation data. The method includes, following the obtaining of the description-carrying medium, acts of obtaining, for at least one representation indicated in the description information-carrying medium, at least one item of information regarding guarantee of availability of the data of the representation on a server; of comparing the information regarding guarantee of availability of the data of the representation on the server with at least one predetermined value; of selecting a fallback representation as a function of the result of the comparison, and upon detecting a restitution error, of toggling to the fallback representation selected.
Variable-length coding in a NOMA-based communication system
A variable-length coding method to improve the performance of downlink NOMA. Depending on the channel conditions and the amount of data waiting to be transmitted the UEs served by the NN, the NN groups UEs (e.g., pairs two UEs) with appropriate channel qualities and adapts the transmission powers in different sub-codewords as well as the codeword length such that the UEs minimum quality-of-service requirements are satisfied. This makes it possible to improve the UEs/network achievable rates and the NN energy efficiency.
Control and operation in wireless local area network
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for range extension, basic service set (BSS) color labeling, and multi-user (MU) fragmentation and control in WLANs. A range extension notification/enablement scheme, a clear channel assessment (CCA), a headroom indication, and/or power scaling may be provided for a range extension mode. BSS color may be provided for multiple-BSSs under an access point (AP). Uplink (UL) transmission may be provided with different fragmentation capabilities. A high-efficiency (HE) trigger-based UL NDP physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) frame may be provided. A station (STA) may receive a trigger frame comprising a null data packet (NDP) indication and a trigger type. The STA may determine that the STA is an intended recipient of the trigger frame. The STA may prepare an NDP PPDU for a control frame and/or a management frame based on the trigger type.
SPEED DEPENDENT TRANSMISSION FORMAT FOR VEHICULAR TRANSMISSION
A method and system for selecting a transmission format of a first wireless device in a wireless communication network are provided. According to one aspect, a method for selecting a transmission format includes determining a speed of the first wireless device, selecting a transmission format based on the speed of the first wireless device.
Method and apparatus for reducing overhead based on the ACK channel
A method and apparatus for a wireless communication system, initially increases resources allocated to an ACKCH as resources allocated to a shared data channel (SDCH), such as a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), increases. The resources allocated to ACK are subsequently limited to a predetermined amount.
SIGNAL TRANSMISSION INSULATIVE DEVICE AND POWER SEMICONDUCTOR MODULE
A signal transmission insulating device includes: a first coil; a second coil opposing the first coil to form a transformer together with the first coil; a first insulating film provided between the opposing first coil and second coil and made of a first dielectric material; a second insulating film surrounding the first coil and made of a second dielectric material having a lower resistivity or a higher permittivity than the first dielectric material; and a third insulating film surrounding the second coil and made of a third dielectric material having a lower resistivity or a higher permittivity than the first dielectric material.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPROVING VOICE QUALITY IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
An embodiment of the present invention may provide a method and a device for improving voice quality in a mobile communication network. An embodiment of the present invention may provide a method for improving communication quality by a base station and a device using the same, the method comprising the steps of: receiving, from a terminal, at least one internet protocol (IP)-based voice packet; determining whether a packet loss exists, on the basis of the received packet; generating compensation information corresponding to a lost packet when it is determined that a packet loss exists; and transmitting the compensation information.
Method and device for handling radio link failure
A method and device for handling radio link failure is disclosed. The method is as follows. A device at network side requests a terminal device to send an uplink signal according to a predefined first period, and detects first signal quality. if the device at the network side determines for continuous M1 times that the first signal quality is lower than a predefined first threshold, the device at the network side requests the terminal device to send the uplink signal according to a predefined second period, and detecting second signal quality, wherein M1 is a predefined first value. When determining according to the second signal quality that restoration of a radio link of the terminal device is failed, the device at the network side releases network resources corresponding to the radio link of the terminal device. The predefined second period is larger than the predefined first period.
