Systems and methods for dynamically adjusting quality levels for transmitting content based on context
Systems and methods for dynamically adapting quality levels of content is disclosed herein. A content transmission system determines whether to reduce streaming bandwidth of a device that transmits content. In response to determining to reduce the streaming bandwidth, the content transmission system identifies a first plurality of frames of the content based on a first context and a second plurality of frames of the content based on a second context. The content transmission system transmits the first plurality of frames at a first quality level based on the first context and the second plurality of frames at a second quality level that is higher than the first quality level based on the second context.
METHOD AND DEVICE IN UE AND BASE STATION FOR CHANNEL CODING
The disclosure discloses a method and device in UE and a base station for channel coding. A first node first determines a first bit block and then transmits a first radio signal, wherein bits of the first bit block are used to generate bits of a second bit block, a third bit block comprises bits of the second bit block and the first bit block, and the third bit block is used to generate the first radio signal. The first bit block, the second bit block and the third bit block comprise P1, P2 and P3 bits, respectively.

There is provided a client device arranged to receive a live adaptive titrate stream, the client device further arranged to: request a manifest file; and request a manifest update hint. The client device further arranged to receive a manifest update hint, the manifest update hint including an indication of when the manifest will be updated; and request an updated manifest file at a time indicated by the manifest update hint.
Methods, encoder and decoder for handling a data stream for transmission between a remote unit and a base unit of a base station system
Described is a method performed by an encoder of a base station system of a wireless communication network, for handling a data stream comprising a number of consecutive IQ samples for transmission over a transmission network between a remote unit and a base unit of the base station system. The remote unit is arranged to transmit wireless signals to and receive from mobile stations, each of the number of IQ samples comprising a first number of bits. The method comprises quantizing, by a quantizer, the IQ samples or IQ prediction errors of the IQ samples with a second number of bits, wherein an amplitude range of the quantizer for the second number of bits is variable and set based on an acceptable signal quality value, entropy encoding the quantized IQ samples or IQ prediction errors applying a first entropy encoding dictionary out of a plurality of entropy encoding dictionaries, based on the set amplitude range of the quantizer, and transmitting, to a decoder, the entropy encoded and quantized IQ samples or IQ prediction errors over the transmission network.
Real-time and low latency packetization protocol for live compressed video data
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing real-time, low-latency packetization protocols for live compressed video data are disclosed. A wireless transmitter includes at least a codec and a media access control (MAC) layer unit. In order for the codec to communicate with the MAC layer unit, the codec encodes the compression ratio in a header embedded inside the encoded video stream. The MAC layer unit extracts the compression ratio from the header and determines a modulation coding scheme (MCS) for transferring the video stream based on the compression ratio. The MAC layer unit and the codec also implement a feedback loop such that the MAC layer unit can command the codec to adjust the compression ratio. Since the changes to the video might not be implemented immediately, the MAC layer unit relies on the header to determine when the video data is coming in with the requested compression ratio.
TECHNIQUES FOR RADIO AWARE CODEC RATE ADAPTATION
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify radio access technology (RAT) state information associated with the UE, the RAT state information including an indication of whether the UE is operating in a steady state or is operating in a transition state. The UE may adapt a codec rate associated with an application of the UE based at least in part on whether the UE is operating in the steady state or is operating in the transition state. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Camera communication channel selection
Adjusting communication channels used by camera to communicate with a base station are described. In one aspect, characteristics of communication channels can be determined and the operation of the camera can be adjusted to use a communication channel based on a comparison of the characteristics of multiple communication channels.
Adaptive encoding in security camera applications
The disclosure is related to adaptive encoding of video streams from a camera. A camera system includes a camera and a base station connected to each other in a first communication network, which can be a wireless network. When a user requests to view a video from the camera, the base station obtains an encoded video stream from the camera and transmits the encoded video stream to a user device. The base station monitors multiple environmental parameters, such as network parameters, camera parameters, and system parameters of the base station, and instructs the camera to adjust the encoding of the video stream, in an event one or more environmental parameters change.
Data transmission
A data transmitting method includes generating multiple channels of encoded data by encoding same data to be encoded according to a plurality of bit rates and selecting encoded data to be transmitted from the multiple channels of encoded data according to a channel bandwidth of a transmission channel. The encoded data to be transmitted is one of the multiple channels of encoded data that matches the channel bandwidth.
TECHNIQUES FOR TRANSMISSION OF RECOMMENDED BIT RATE QUERIES
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques transmitting a recommended bit rate query. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes participating in a voice call with a base station using a channel and a bit rate for the voice call, measuring one or more channel quality metrics for the channel during the voice call, determining whether to transmit a query message to the base station to request a change in the bit rate based, at least in part, on the measured one or more channel quality metrics, at least one of a handover indication received from the base station or a change mode request received from the base station, and a prohibit timer, and taking one or more actions based on the determination.
