Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) configured to communicate with a wireless network via a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG). Such methods include entering a reduced-energy mode for the SCG responsive to receiving a first command via the MCG or the SCG. Such methods also include, while in the reduced-energy mode for the SCG and in a connected mode for the MCG, performing SCG measurements and reporting the SCG measurements to the wireless network (e.g., via MCG or SCG). Other embodiments include complementary methods for first and second network nodes arranged, respectively, to provide the MCG and the SCG, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform the exemplary methods. Modulation and coding scheme determination for sidelink communication

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify one or more spectral efficiency ranges that are to be used to select a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for a sidelink communication. The UE may transmit the sidelink communication using the MCS selected based at least in part on the one or more spectral efficiency ranges. Numerous other aspects are provided.

UE-assisted group response for two-step random access procedure
11570822 · 2023-01-31 · ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a random access (RACH) procedure, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a first RACH message (e.g., RACH Message A (MsgA)) to a base station, which may include an indication of a modulation order, a maximum number of repetitions for RACH Message B (MsgB) data, or both. The base station may multiplex random access responses (RARs) for UEs into second RACH messages (e.g., RACH MsgBs) based on the indication(s) and may transmit these RACH MsgBs. The UE may receive and decode a downlink control information (DCI) portion of a RACH MsgB but may determine not to decode the data portion of the RACH MsgB if an indication in the DCI of the modulation order, the threshold number of repetitions, or both does not match the value reported by the UE. Otherwise, the UE may decode the full RACH MsgB.

Transmissions in scheduled time intervals by a wireless device
11424850 · 2022-08-23 · ·

A wireless device receives a downlink control information comprising: a first field indicating a number of scheduled time intervals; a modulation and coding scheme field; a transmit power control field; and a listen before talk (LBT) field indicating timing information for performing an LBT procedure. The LBT procedure for transmission in the number of scheduled time intervals is performed based on the timing information. A transmission power of each time interval in the number of scheduled time intervals is determined based on a same closed loop adjustment factor and the transmit power control field, wherein the transmission power of each time interval of the number of scheduled time intervals is adjusted in response to a total transmit power for a respective time interval exceeding a power value. The wireless device transmits, in each time interval of number of scheduled time intervals, employing the modulation and coding scheme field.
