TECHNIQUES FOR ENABLING BEAM MANAGEMENT RADIO RESOURCE CONTROL PARAMETERS

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a radio resource control (RRC) message, the RRC message including an indication of whether group-based beam reporting is enabled for the UE. The UE may transmit a group-based beam report based at least in part on the indication that the group-based beam reporting is enabled for the UE. Numerous other aspects are described.

Channel state information (CSI) packet transmission based on a dynamic transmission period

Techniques for transmitting channel state information (CSI) are described. In an example, a device determines a condition associated with a link parameter of a link between the device and another device. Based at least in part on the condition, the device determines a CSI packet period. The device transmits, to the other device and based at least in part on the CSI packet period, a CSI packet over the link. Accordingly, when the conditions change, the CSI packet period can be adapted to the changes, thereby improving the CSI transmissions over the link given the most current conditions.

Data transmission method and apparatus

A data transmission method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: sending, by a digital unit (DU), first uplink scheduling information to a radio unit (RU); receiving a predicted decoding result from the RU; receiving uplink data from a terminal, and decoding the uplink data to obtain an actual decoding result; and performing, by the DU, an error remedy for uplink data transmission based on the actual decoding result and the predicted decoding result. The decoding result is predicted, and scheduling information for data transmission is adjusted based on the predicted decoding result, thereby improving data transmission reliability, so that a data transmission latency in a relaxed latency communication scenario can be met, data transmission can be normally performed, and an interface of a base station after a re-split can be normally used, thereby reducing a bandwidth requirement on the interface.

INTELLIGENT PACKET REPETITION IN MOBILE SATELLITE SERVICE (MSS) LINKS TO OVERCOME CHANNEL BLOCKAGES

Systems and methods for intelligent packet repetition in mobile satellite service links to overcome channel blockages. One example method includes transmitting and receiving packetized wireless communications between first and second communications devices via a bidirectional wireless link. The method includes receiving, by a first communications device from a second communications device, feedback information including an indication of a blockage in the communication channel, the indication including information indicating the presence and extent of the blockage, wherein the feedback does not include status indications for individual received packets. The method includes, responsive to receiving the indication of a blockage in the communication channel, determining a packet repeat value based on the feedback information, wherein the packet repeat value may be greater than one. The method includes modifying a transmit signal of the bidirectional wireless link to repeat transmitted packets based on the packet repeat value.

TECHNIQUES FOR BEAM FAILURE RECOVERY IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
20230076253 · 2023-03-09 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for detection of beam failure and beam failure recovery. A user equipment (UE) may perform measurements on one or more reference signals for one or more beams. In the event that one of the beams has a measurement that indicates a potential beam failure, the UE may increment a beam failure count (BFC) at a physical layer of the UE, and start a BFC timer. In the event that the BFC reaches a threshold value prior to expiration of the BFC timer, the UE may trigger a switch to a different active beam, provide a beam failure indication (BFI) to a higher layer of the UE, or both. A higher layer at the UE may autonomously adjust a BFI threshold for a number of BFIs that are needed to trigger a beam failure declaration to the base station.

DYNAMIC ENABLEMENT OF RLC MODE BASED ON UE RF CONDITIONS
20230119693 · 2023-04-20 ·

A system and method for dynamic enablement of a RLC mode of a Data Radio Bearer (DRB) based on UE radiofrequency (RF) conditions. A threshold value for a network characteristic is provided to a gNodeB. Changes in the network characteristic correlates to changes in RF channel conditions of the UE. The trigger configures the gNodeB to identify when the network characteristic meets the threshold value for selectively controlling operation of the gNodeB at one of a plurality of different operation modes including an initial radio link control (RLC) mode based on the network characteristic. A Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session is established with the gNodeB operating in an initial RLC mode with the possibility to dynamically switch to a different RLC mode based on RF channel conditions.
