Performance measurement in a packet-switched communication network
A method for performing a performance measurement in a communication network. Each measurement point in the network identifies packets of a multipoint packet flow and selects therefrom a number of samples, based on the value of a sampling signature calculated by applying a hash function to a bit mask in each identified packet. For each sample, a performance parameter and the packet's content are provided to a management server. The management server identifies a cluster of measurement points such that each identified packet of the multipoint packet flow received by a cluster's input measurement point is also received at a cluster's output measurement point. Amongst the performance parameters provided by the cluster's measurement points, the performance parameters relating to samples belonging to a certain packet sub-flow are identified, based on the packet's content. Then, a performance measurement is performed on the packet sub-flow.
Artificial intelligence for fault localization and mitigation in 5G/6G
A key requirement for 5G and 6G networking is reliability. Message faults are inevitable, and therefore procedures are needed to identify each fault location in a message and, if possible, to rectify it. Disclosed herein are artificial intelligence AI models and procedures for mitigating faults in wireless messages by (a) evaluating the signal quality of each message element according to waveform features and modulation deviations, (b) evaluating the fault probability of each message element by seeking correlations, which may be subtle, among the various waveform measurements including polarization and frequency offset, and (c) correcting the faults according to the message type, apparent format, intent or meaning, typical previous messages of a similar type, correlations of bit patterns and symbol sequences, error-detection codes if present, and other content-based indicators uncovered during model development. Automatic, real-time fault localization and correction may save substantial time and resources while substantially enhancing messaging reliability.
Fiber back channel modem management system
A method for equalizing a wireless communication channel includes transmitting a data signal over a primary channel. During transmission of the data signal, a corresponding data signal is sent over a secondary channel. The information received from the secondary channel is compared to the information received from the primary channel and differences between the information received from each of the channels are observed. These differences are used as inputs to an equalizer algorithm that may be used to reduce distortion of the data signal sent over the primary channel.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may help ensure downlink packet bursts are delivered to a UE within a deadline. Certain aspects provide a method wireless communications by a user equipment (UE), comprising determining a deadline for arrival of bursts of packets at the UE, sending an indication of the deadline to a network entity, and monitoring for bursts of packets from the network entity in accordance with the deadline.

A vehicle control device 1 that controls a vehicle includes an execution management unit P3 that manages execution of predetermined processing, an execution state recording unit P5 that records a history of execution states of the predetermined processing, and a setting information management unit P4 that manages setting information related to the execution of the predetermined processing. The setting information includes a jitter tolerance which is a tolerance of a jitter. The execution management unit P3 adjusts an execution timing of processing to be adjusted, which is included in the predetermined processing and in which the jitter is generated, based on the jitter tolerance of the processing to be adjusted.

A method for equalizing a wireless communication channel includes transmitting a data signal over a primary channel. BIT ERROR RATE ESTIMATION AND ERROR CORRECTION AND RELATED SYSTEMS, METHODS, DEVICES
Physical layer devices and related methods for determining Bit Error Rates (BERs) and correcting errors in signals received through shared transmission media of wireless local area networks are disclosed. A physical layer device is configured to identify coding violations in received signal, determine a rate of the coding violations in the signal, and estimate a BER of the signal to be equal to the determined rate of the coding violations. A physical layer device is configured to invert a half symbol immediately preceding or immediately following a coding violation based, at least in part, on signal integrities of the half symbol immediately preceding and the half symbol immediately following the coding violation to correct a bit error.
On-chip spread spectrum characterization
On-chip spread spectrum characterization including obtaining, from a skitter circuit, skitter data comprising a spread width corresponding to an amplitude of a spread of a spread spectrum clock signal; setting an offset pointer to a center of the spread width corresponding to the amplitude of the spread; retrieving, for each of a number of reference clock cycles, edge data indicating a location, within the spread width, of an edge of the spread spectrum during the reference clock cycle; incrementing, using the edge data, an offset counter for each reference clock cycle during which the edge of the spread spectrum crosses the offset pointer; and calculating a frequency of the spread spectrum using the offset counter and the number of reference clock cycles.
Systems and methods for timing recovery with bandwidth extension
A receiver includes a feed-forward equalizer, a first detector, a jitter estimation circuit, and a jitter mitigation circuit. The feed-forward equalizer is configured to equalize channel gain of digitized samples of a received signal and to output equalized samples. The first detector is configured to detect symbols in the equalized samples. The jitter estimation circuit is configured to estimate jitter in the equalized samples by estimating a deviation in periodicity between pairs of the equalized samples. The jitter mitigation circuit comprises a linearized FIR filter configured to receive an input including the equalized samples or the detected symbols and to compensate inter symbol interference in the equalized samples due to the jitter as a function of the estimated jitter and an estimate of the inter symbol interference.

Apparatus and methods for controlling a jitter buffer are described. In one embodiment, the apparatus for controlling a jitter buffer includes an inter-talkspurt delay jitter estimator for estimating an offset value of the delay of a first frame in the current talkspurt with respect to the delay of a latest anchor frame in a previous talkspurt, and a jitter buffer controller for adjusting a length of the jitter buffer based on a long term length of the jitter buffer for each frame and the offset value.
