METHODS, INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE
A method is performed by a wireless communications device of transmitting measurement reports to an infrastructure equipment. The method comprises receiving signals transmitted by the infrastructure equipment, measuring a characteristic associated with the received signals, and selecting an index value from one of a plurality of index values. Each of the index values represents a range of values of the characteristic for which communications parameters of a transmitter in the infrastructure equipment and a receiver in the communication device should have to achieve an acceptable communications performance for values of the characteristic within the range of values of the characteristic. The method further comprises, subject to the selected index value, transmitting the selected index value to the infrastructure equipment.
MAPPING BIT POSITIONS USING PREDICTED ERROR VALUES
Aspects described herein include a method comprising predicting, based on one or more transmission characteristics, error values for a sequence of bit positions used for modulating data within a packet. The method further comprises generating a bitmap that maps one or more payload bits and one or more padding bits of the packet to respective bit positions of the sequence. The one or more padding bits are preferentially mapped to respective bit positions having relatively greater error values. The method further comprises modulating the sequence according to the bitmap.
RELIABLE LINK QUALITY ESTIMATION IN MULTI-RATE NETWORKS
Techniques are directed to using communication metric data associated with multiple modulation schemes to achieve a link quality metric that is representative of the link as a whole, across the multiple modulation schemes that may be employed on the link. A calculation of a link quality metric may be triggered by a network layer transmission attempt, with communication metrics accumulated at the link layer of the link. A filter used to calculate the link quality metric may be updated based on network layer transmission attempts, based on successful and/or unsuccessful transmissions at a Media Access Control (MAC) layer of the link. More generally, a calculation of link quality may be triggered by a higher layer transmission attempt while being calculated based on transmission attempts at a lower layer of the link.
Systems and methods for measuring wireless uplink signal quality
Systems and methods for measuring wireless uplink signal quality of a P25 H-CPM uplink waveform are provided. In particular, such systems and methods can include calculating an SINR measurement and/or an FBER measurement for the P25 H-CPM uplink waveform to determine whether P25 user equipment has been successfully deployed.
CONTENTION-BASED PAYLOAD TRANSMISSIONS USING DIFFERENTIAL CODING
Methods, systems, and devices for contention-based transmissions using differential coding techniques in mobile communication technology are described. An exemplary method for wireless communication includes transmitting, by a wireless device, a payload including a first portion that is modulated using a differential coding technique and a second portion that is modulated using an amplitude-shift keying (ASK) or phase-shift keying (PSK) modulation, and where the payload includes an identity of the wireless device and at least one of a user plane data or a control plane data.
System and method for locating events and/or devices on a network
System and methods for locating events and/or devices on a network are described.
Artificial intelligence for fault localization and mitigation in 5G/6G
A key requirement for 5G and 6G networking is reliability. Message faults are inevitable, and therefore procedures are needed to identify each fault location in a message and, if possible, to rectify it. Disclosed herein are artificial intelligence AI models and procedures for mitigating faults in wireless messages by (a) evaluating the signal quality of each message element according to waveform features and modulation deviations, (b) evaluating the fault probability of each message element by seeking correlations, which may be subtle, among the various waveform measurements including polarization and frequency offset, and (c) correcting the faults according to the message type, apparent format, intent or meaning, typical previous messages of a similar type, correlations of bit patterns and symbol sequences, error-detection codes if present, and other content-based indicators uncovered during model development. Automatic, real-time fault localization and correction may save substantial time and resources while substantially enhancing messaging reliability.
Multi-Parameter Fault Detection and Mitigation in 5G and 6G Messaging
Message reliability is a key requirement of 5G/6G communications. In many challenging network environments, two successive retransmissions of a message can both be corrupted, greatly reducing reliability. Therefore, methods are disclosed for identifying faulted message elements according to a metric that includes the waveform or SNR of the message element, its modulation quality, and a consistency check between the received versions. The receiver can then assemble a merged message version by selecting the higher quality version of each message element from the two (or more) corrupted versions, and thereby avoid requesting yet another retransmission. In addition, the receiver can monitor the background level and, if it is above a predetermined limit, can request that the receiver store the message for a predetermined time, or until the background level subsides below the limit.

Link adaptation using transmission rate options
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for link adaptation in a wireless local area network (WLAN). A link adaptation test packet from a first WLAN device to a second WLAN may include a plurality of link adaptation test portions that are generated using a corresponding plurality of transmission rate options. For example, the plurality of link adaptation test portions may be modulated using different modulation and coding scheme (MCS) options. Thus, a single test packet may be used to evaluate different transmission rate options. The second WLAN device may provide feedback information regarding the link adaptation test portions. The feedback information may be used to determine a transmission rate for a subsequent transmission from the first WLAN device to the second WLAN device based on wireless channel conditions.
