X-RAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING X-RAY IRRADIATION AREA USING THE SAME
An X-ray device includes a camera to image an object and output the image of the object, a display member using a touch screen to display the image of the object output from the camera, and an X-ray irradiation region of the object, an X-ray irradiation region controller to control a region of the object to which an X-ray is irradiated, and a control member to enable the irradiation region controller to control the region of the object to which an X-ray is irradiated according to the X-ray irradiation region, when the X-ray irradiation region is determined, based on the image of the object displayed in the display member.
Charged particle beam system
First ions and second ions that are heavier than first ions are generated in an ion source. One kind of ions of the first ions and second ions is injected into an accelerator by action of a switching magnet and accelerated in the accelerator. An ion beam including the one kind of ions is extracted from the accelerator to a beam transport system and a tumor volume of a patient is irradiated with the ion beam from an irradiation nozzle. In the irradiation of the ion beam, a tumor volume depth and the largest underwater range of each ion species are compared, and an ion species in which the tumor volume depth becomes the longest underwater range or lower is injected into the accelerator, and accelerated by the accelerator. The tumor volume is irradiated with the ion species.
STREAMLINED, GUIDED ON-COUCH ADAPTIVE WORKFLOW
Systems and methods for implementing an adaptive therapy workflow that minimizes time needed to create a session patient model, select an appropriate plan for the treatment session, and treat the patient.
Patient positioning using a skeleton model
First and second skeleton model data is determined based on first and second surface data of a patient. Each of the skeleton model data describes geometries of rigid anatomic structures of a patient at a different point in time. Skeleton difference data is determined describing differences between the geometries of the rigid anatomic structures. In a next step, movement instruction data is determined which describes movement to be performed by the rigid anatomic structures to minimize the differences, i.e. to correct the posture of the patient. The movement instruction data is for example determined based on anatomy constraint data which describes anatomical movement constraints for the rigid anatomic structures (e.g. range of motion of a joint). An instruction is displayed (e.g. using augmented reality), guiding the user how to move the rigid anatomic structures so as to correct the patient's posture.
RADIATION THERAPY SYSTEM USING A DIGITAL TOMOSYNTHESIS PROCESS FOR NEAR REAL-TIME LOCALIZATION
A method of radiation therapy comprises, while a gantry of a radiation therapy system rotates continuously in a first direction through a treatment arc from a first treatment delivery position to a second treatment delivery position, causing an imaging X-ray source mounted on the gantry to direct X-rays through a target volume and receiving a set of X-ray projection images from an X-ray imager mounted on the gantry; determining a current location of the target volume based on the set of X-ray projection images; and while the gantry to continues to rotate to the second treatment delivery position, initiating delivery of a treatment beam of a treatment-delivering X-ray source mounted on the gantry to the target volume, and continuing to cause the gantry to rotate in the first direction from the second treatment delivery position to a third treatment delivery position.
CORRELATION OF DOSE AND DOSE RATE INFORMATION TO VOLUME FOR RADIATION TREATMENT PLANNING
A method used for planning radiation treatment accessing information that includes calculated doses and calculated dose rates for sub-volumes in a treatment target, and also accessing information that includes values of a measure of the sub-volumes as a function of the calculated doses and the calculated dose rates. A graphical user interface includes a rendering that is based on the calculated doses, the calculated doses rates, and the values of the measure.
HYBRID BRAGG/FLASH PROTON THERAPY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
The invention comprises a method and apparatus for treating a tumor of a patient with positively charged particles, comprising the steps of transporting the positively charged particles along a beam transport path passing sequentially from an accelerator, through a beam transport line, through a nozzle, and toward a position of the patient, the step of transporting further comprising the steps of: (1) terminating a first Bragg peak, of a first set of the positively charged particles, in a position of the tumor and (2) flash treating the tumor with a second Bragg peak, of a second set of the positively charged particles, the second Bragg peak terminating post-patient relative to the nozzle. Optionally the second set of particles are delivered at a rate exceeding one MHz. Optionally, particles in common are used to both treat the tumor and image the tumor.
Mobile radiation oncology coach system with internal and/or external shielding for same
A mobile radiation oncology coach system is disclosed. The mobile radiation oncology coach system comprise a trailer having a control console area and a treatment area, the treatment area is equipped with a medical treatment facility. The mobile radiation oncology coach system further comprise an internal shielding provided between the control console area and the treatment area. The mobile radiation oncology coach system further comprise an external shielding provided at the outside of the trailer.
PROTON THERAPY BEAM ALIGNMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
The invention comprises a method and apparatus for aligning a charged particle beam path for treating a tumor of a patient, comprising: a cancer therapy system comprising the charged particle beam path sequentially passing: from an injector, through a synchrotron, along a beam transport line, and through a nozzle; a first two-dimensional detector configured to measure a beam state of positively charged particles; and an integrated intelligent system configured to classify the beam state into a set of beam shape factors, the integrated intelligent system configured to correct the beam shape through application of a condition-action rule: (1) adjusting a first voltage delivered to a first magnet positioned in the beam line prior to the first two-dimensional detector and (2) altering the beam shape through application of a second voltage to a second magnet position in the beam line adjacent to the first magnet.
Bookmarking capability for radiation treatment planning and management
A control circuit operably couples to a memory having a plurality of different radiation treatment applications stored therein, a data store having patient data stored therein, and at least a first user interface comprising a first display and a first user input interface. The control circuit can be configured to present simultaneously, via the first display and for a given patient, at least two workspaces that each correspond to a different one of the radiation treatment applications wherein the workspaces are using patient data from the data store for the given patient. The control circuit can also be configured to present, via the user input interface, a bookmark capture opportunity, such that a user of the apparatus can selectively create a bookmark that captures a present state for both of the at least two workspaces and hence for the radiation treatment applications that correspond to the at least two workspaces.
