Location-based access control of secured resources
Techniques described herein provide location-based access control to secured resources. Generally described, configurations disclosed herein enable a system to dynamically modify access to secured resources based on one or more location-related actions. For example, techniques disclosed herein can enable a computing system to control access to resources such as computing devices, display devices, secured locations, and secured data. In some configurations, the techniques disclosed herein can enable controlled access to secured resources based, at least in part, on an invitation associated with a location and positioning data indicating a location of a user.
Universal personal identification signal
A universal identity and physical presence detection in the form of a personal, universal transponder signal is described. This signal allows a user to interact with devices in the user's environment without having to download vendor-specific apps, set up vendor-specific accounts or be limited to a siloed eco-system of a manufacturer brand. The universal signal representing an individual allows for devices and software to detect and query the beacon transmitting the signal for information relating to the user and augmented onto the physical environment. This provides a more personalized, efficient, and, in some instances, secure experience for the user. Embodiments focus on minimizing user workload to allow for seamless interactions with her environment. Various embodiments provide a truly universal signal for all users and devices to interact, wherein all parties benefit from a seamless and natural way of interacting in the physical world.
Enhanced device updating
Systems, methods, and related technologies for device software monitoring and device software updating are described. In certain aspects, a device is selected based on being a smart device and a software version of associated with the software of the device is determined. The device software may then be automatically updated if newer software is available.
Network filter
Systems and methods for managing a network are disclosed. One method can comprise transmitting a first identifier associated with a first service. Access to the first service can be provided to a user device using the first identifier. A filter element associated with the user device can be received. Transmission of a second identifier associated with a second service can be filtered based on the filter element, wherein filtering transmission inhibits access of the user device to the second service.
METHOD FOR DETECTING A RESENDING OF A FRAME
A method for detecting a resending of a frame, each frame sent that includes an identifier and a counter, the counter remaining identical during a resending, each frame sent being received by a plurality of gateways, each gateway retransmitting each frame to a central server, a response delay being predefined, the method comprising the steps of receiving a first frame comprising an identifier and a counter, storing as reference parameters a first reception time and the counter, receiving a second frame comprising the same identifier and another counter, and, if the values of the counters are equal then determining a second reception time of the second frame, and, if the difference between the reception times is greater than the response delay, then the second frame is a resending of the first frame, and updating the reference parameters with the second reception time.

System and method for implementing community wireless communications service
Novel tools and techniques provide for implementing community wireless communications service. In some embodiments, a network gateway device might receive, from a user device via a customer gateway device, a first request for wireless access to a network. If it determines that the user device is unassociated with the customer associated with customer gateway, the network gateway might send a second request with an identifier of the user device to a WiFi server, which might generate and send a login user interface (UI) to the user device. The user might send a response including a unique identifier, which the WiFi server might include in an access request to an authentication server. If authenticated by the authentication server, the WiFi server might send a care-of address (COA) request to the network gateway, which assigns the COA to the user device and provides the user device with wireless access to the network.
Digital Doorbell
A method and system for alerting an occupier of a dwelling that a visitor is at an entranceway of the dwelling. The method includes receiving a digital code associated with a QR code scan of a QR code positioned in proximity to the entranceway; determining an occupier status as to whether the occupier is to be disturbed or contactable; and sending a predetermined message to a mobile communications device of the visitor depending upon the occupier status.
Tiered network access based on user action
The present disclosure discloses a method and network device for providing tiered network access based on user actions. Specifically, a network device can identify a social action performed by a user, where the social action is performed while the user is logged into a social network application. Furthermore, the network device can select a network access level of a plurality of network access levels based on the social action. Accordingly, the network device grants a client device corresponding to the user access to a network based on the selected network access level. Note that the network access level is selected from the plurality of network access levels based on a plurality of social actions performed by the user.
Group communication
In order to facilitate group communication using characteristics of a prearranged group but not involving all members of the pre-arranged group, a parameter indicating that the group communication is not intended to all members of the pre-arranged group is added by an inviting group member sending a request to a group server, and the group server, in response to the parameter, is configured to not to invite all members to the group communication.
