TECHNIQUES FOR REFERENCE SIGNAL BUNDLING IN SIDELINK CHANNELS

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described, including techniques for utilizing implicit or explicit signaling to indicate a cancellation of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling. A first user equipment (UE) may perform DMRS bundling across physical sidelink channels transmitted to a second UE to enable the second UE to perform joint channel estimation. In some examples, based on a detected change, either at the first UE or the second UE, the first UE may signal to the second UE that the DMRS bundling is canceled. In some examples, the detected change may be a resource allocation change, a physical channel configuration change, a change in a quasi-colocation (QCL) relationship at the first UE, or a change in a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state at the first UE. Additionally or alternatively, the first UE or the second UE may request the cancellation based on detected changes.

Methods, infrastructure equipment and communications device

A method is performed by a wireless communications device of transmitting measurement reports to an infrastructure equipment. The method comprises receiving signals transmitted by the infrastructure equipment, measuring a characteristic associated with the received signals, and selecting an index value from one of a plurality of index values. Each of the index values represents a range of values of the characteristic for which communications parameters of a transmitter in the infrastructure equipment and a receiver in the communication device should have to achieve an acceptable communications performance for values of the characteristic within the range of values of the characteristic. The method further comprises, subject to the selected index value, transmitting the selected index value to the infrastructure equipment.

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE

A wireless communication method includes receiving a reference signal and a data signal, based on a coverage enhancement level represented by a number of transmission repetitions; processing the reference signal and the data signal received by the receiving; setting a number of resource elements for transmitting the reference signal based at least on a channel type; and setting usage of resource elements indicated by a System Information Block (SIB). The reference signal is a Cell-specific Reference Signal (CRS) or a Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS).

CHANNEL ACQUISITION USING ORTHOGONAL TIME FREQUENCY SPACE MODULATED PILOT SIGNALS

Other embodiments are disclosed.

Parallel transmission of preamble sequences with data layers for improved data detection

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems), a base station may serve a large number of user equipments (UEs) on the uplink. To improve detectability for these uplink transmissions (e.g., if reference signals are not available for the transmissions), the UEs may implement parallel transmissions of preambles with uplink data. A UE may split the uplink data into one or more data layers, and may select one or more preamble layers to transmit superposed with the data layers. These preambles may be sequences known to both the UE and the base station to aid in detectability. The UE may assign different signature sequences to each of these layers based on cross-correlation values (e.g., assigning sequences with higher cross-correlation values to the data layers for improved detectability), and may scramble the layers into a single shared signal for transmission.
