This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support short control messaging using index modulation on DMRS. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes a base station determining a configuration action for a served user equipment (UE) in communication with the base station. The base station may then generate a short control message associated with the configuration action and map that short control message onto a set of inactive subcarrier resource elements (REs) of a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence. The served UE may then receive the transmitted DMRS sequence and determine the short control message within the set of inactive subcarrier REs of the DMRS sequence. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Facilitating compact signaling design for reserved resource configuration in wireless communication systems

A system facilitating compact signaling design for reserved resource configuration via a multi-dimensional bitmap is provided for a wireless communication system. A method comprises: determining a multi-dimensional bitmap (MDB) in time and frequency domains, wherein the time domain is represented by an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbol and the frequency domain is represented by an OFDM subcarrier. The determining comprises: selecting a group of reserved resource allocations of the MDB in which data information is not to be communicated; assigning a first value for the OFDM multiplexed symbol and the OFDM subcarrier according to a location of elements of the group of reserved resource allocations; and assigning, to other portions of the MDB other than the group of reserved resource allocations, a second value distinct from the first value. The method also comprises facilitating, by the device, transmitting the MDB to a mobile device.

A method is disclosed that divide a total frequency band of a communication system into several equally spaced non-overlapping information channels, which are allocated to different users; the information channels are in one-to-one correspondence with the users; user signals from different addresses are distinguished based on frequency, thereby completing the multiple access connection; and duplex communication between two users uses a fundamental frequency and harmonics for information transmission. A process of the information transmission is as follows: different information is first modulated and then is separately loaded on different harmonic components, different information is transmitted through different harmonic components or component combinations so that each pair of information channels can transmit N groups of different information at the same time, and finally the fundamental frequency and harmonic information received by a receiving end is demodulated to obtain all the transmitted information.
