ENCODING DATA
An example method may include obtaining multiple symbols each associated with a different state in a quadrature amplitude modulation scheme used for transmission of a data signal. The method may further include determining a sequence of symbols of the multiple symbols for a first portion of the data signal. The determining may include selecting an index value from multiple index values for the first portion of the data signal. The determining may also include obtaining energy states of multiple sequences of the symbols using the energy levels of the symbols. The determining may further include obtaining a relationship between the energy levels of the symbols, the energy states of the multiple sequences of the symbols, and the multiple index values. The determining may further include selecting the sequence of symbols based on the relationship and the index value for the first portion of the data signal.
I/Q imbalance compensation
The disclosure relates to technology for compensating for I/Q imbalance. An apparatus includes I-path circuitry having a first analog filter configured to filter an I-path signal and Q-path circuitry having a second analog filter configured to filter a Q-path signal. An I/Q imbalance compensation circuit of the apparatus is configured to process digital versions of the I-path signal and the Q-path signal to compensate for mismatch between the I-path circuitry and the Q-path circuitry. A first circuit of the apparatus is configured to apply a coarse adjustment to at least one of the first analog filter or the second analog filter to reduce an initial mismatch between the I-path circuitry and the Q-path circuitry. The first circuit is configured to operate the I/Q imbalance compensation circuit to compensate for a residual mismatch between the I-path circuitry and the Q-path circuitry with the coarse adjustment applied.
NON-UNIFORM CONSTELLATIONS
A method for generating a non-uniform constellation is provided. The method comprises the step of performing a first process, the first process comprising the steps of: obtaining a first constellation defined by one or more parameter values; and generating a second constellation based on the first constellation using a second process. The second process comprises the steps of: obtaining a set of candidate constellations, wherein the set of candidate constellations comprises the first constellation and one or more modified constellations, wherein each modified constellation is obtained by modifying the parameter values defining the first constellation; determining the performance of each candidate constellation according to a predetermined performance measure; selecting the candidate constellation having the best performance as the second constellation.
Transmission method and reception device
The present technology relates to a transmission method and a reception device for securing favorable communication quality in data transmission using an LDPC code. In group-wise interleaving, the LDPC code with a code length N of 17280 bits is interleaved in units of 360-bit bit groups 0 to 47. In group-wise deinterleaving, a sequence of the LDPC code after group-wise interleaving is returned to an original sequence. The present technology can be applied, for example, in a case of performing data transmission using an LDPC code, and the like.
Spectral efficient uplink multiple access techniques using index modulation
The present disclosure provides an uplink multiple access scheme and technique to enhance the overall spectral efficiency of wireless systems. The scheme and technique exploits an index modulation concept in orthogonal multiple access systems. A first subblock of transmitted data for a user is conventionally modulated, while a second subblock of the data determines the index of the active channel that will be used to communicate the modulated symbol. The scheme and technique enables all available orthogonal resources to be used for an arbitrary number of users as an extra source of information that is used to enhance the overall spectral efficiency in terms of error efficiency and energy efficiency.
SINGLE CARRIER MULTI-LEVEL CODING AMPLITUDE PHASE SHIFT KEYING WAVEFORM
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support a single carrier multi-level coding (MLC) amplitude phase shift keying (APSK) modulated waveform. For example, a user equipment (UE) capable to communicate using MLC APSK modulated waveforms may transmit a channel state information (CSI) report, including a recommendation for a waveform configuration, to a base station. The base station may receive the CSI report and may transmit a configuration message to the UE, which may configure the UE with a set of waveform parameters associated with MLC APSK modulation. The UE may receive the configuration message and may communicate with the base station using MLC APSK modulated waveforms and based on the set of waveform parameters, which may reduce phase noise and provide lower peak average power ratio (PAPR) signaling.
