Automatically routing network requests between computer subsystems
11770330 · 2023-09-26 · ·

Network requests can be automatically routed between two or more computer subsystems in some examples. In one such example, a system can determine that a user is eligible for a service based on usage data relating to an account of the user. Based on determining that the account is eligible for the service, the system can activate the service for the user by communicating with a service subsystem. Subsequent to activating the service for the user, the system can receive a network request associated with the user and determine that the network request has a characteristic. Based on determining that the network request has the characteristic, the system can forward the request to the service subsystem. The service subsystem can complete the network request using the service.

Method and system for facilitating high availability in a multi-fabric system

An apparatus in a first computing device is provided. During operation, the apparatus can present, to a processor of the first computing device, a virtual interface switch (VIS) coupled to an interface port of the processor. The apparatus can present to the processor that a target device, which is reachable via a remote apparatus of a second computing device, is coupled to the VIS. The apparatuses can be coupled via at least a first fabric and a second fabric. A respective fabric may facilitate communication based on a fabric switching protocol. The apparatus can obtain a set of packets, which can be issued from the interface port via the VIS and directed to the target device. The apparatus can then forward, to the remote apparatus, a first subset of the set of packets via the first fabric and a second subset of the set of packets via the second fabric.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADAPTIVE TRAFFIC PATH MANAGEMENT
20220029910 · 2022-01-27 ·

A system and method for adaptive traffic path management, the method including: receiving at least one packet associated with a traffic flow; determining whether the traffic flow is a roaming traffic flow; determining application parameters associated with the at least one packet; determining attributes correlated with the traffic flow associated with the at least one packet; analyzing the application parameters and attributes to determine a Network Address Translation (NAT) pool for the traffic flow; determining if a modified NAT is needed based on the NAT pool for the traffic flow; if a modified NAT is needed, modifying the NAT for the at least one packet associated with the traffic flow; and sending the at least one packet and the traffic flow associated with the at least one packet to a path associated with the modified NAT.

Mobile media pause and resume

In embodiments, the present invention provides a method and system for managing playback of content delivered to a mobile device with a pause and resume functionality. The method and system including receiving delivered content on a mobile device, initiating playback of the delivered content, pausing playback of the content being delivered to the mobile device in response to an action and resuming delivery of the content upon a request.

Controlling data paths within cellular telecommunications environments
11184759 · 2021-11-23 · ·

Technologies are described for controlling the data path (e.g., the end-to-end data path) for cellular network data. For example, a customer of a cellular network that owns or operates cellular devices can use the technologies described herein to control how cellular network data travels through the cellular network, including associated network connections and network equipment, before ultimately reaching the customer's network. In some implementations, the data path is controlled at each of a plurality of stages. For example, control can be applied at the mobile operator stage (e.g., to control which mobile operator the cellular device connects to), at the home subscriber server (HSS) stage, at the proxy stage, and/or at the packet data network gateway (PGW) stage.

SEGMENT ROUTING EXTENSION HEADERS

A system and method are disclosed for using segment routing (SR) in native IP networks. The method involves receiving a packet. The packet is an IP packet and includes an IP header. The method also involves updating the packet. Updating the packet involves writing information, including a segment routing segment identifier, to the destination address of the packet.

ANALYSIS OF ROUTING POLICY APPLICATION TO ROUTES
20210359929 · 2021-11-18 ·

Techniques described herein relate to performing an analysis of application of a routing policy to a route. Specifically, the techniques relate to a command that may be executed to evaluate the steps of the routing policy (e.g., a route map). A copy of a live route map may be made. Receipt of the command may cause the steps of the routing policy to be simulated using the copy. The simulation may return results of analyzing the outcome of each step in the routing policy. Based on the results, an updated routing policy copy may be generated that changes one or more steps in the routing policy. The updated routing policy copy may then be re-simulated to determine if the changes caused the intended effect. If so, the live routing policy may be replaced with the updated routing policy copy.

Method and device for networking

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for networking and a corresponding device. The method includes in response to a terminal device accessing network, obtaining configuration information of the terminal device; based on the configuration information, determining a traffic path associated with the terminal device; and configuring an underlying network node of the network based on the traffic path such that the underlying network node routes traffic associated with the terminal device based on the traffic path. A device that can implement the above method is further disclosed.

Connection management service

A technology is described for determining a trust score or trust metric used to determine whether to allow a connection to a high risk destination. In one example of the technology, a connection request to initiate a connection with a destination over a network may be received at a communication service. The communication service may identify a customer account associated with the connection request and obtain a trust score that indicates whether the connection request associated with the customer account may be allowed. The communication service may determine whether the connection request associated with the customer account is allowed to initiate the connection with the destination based on the trust score, and initiate the connection with the destination over the network when the trust score allows the connection request.
