Prepopulation of Caches
20230171192 · 2023-06-01 ·

A system, process, and computer-readable medium for updating an application cache using a stream listening service is described. A stream listening service may monitor one or more data streams for content relating to a user. The stream listening service may forward the content along with time-to-live values to an application cache. A user may use an application to obtain information regarding the user’s account, where the application obtains information from a data store and/or cached information from the application cache. The stream listening service, by forwarding current account information, obtained from listening to one or more streams, to the application cache, reduces traffic at the data store by providing current information from the data stream to the application cache.

Device for packet processing acceleration

A device for packet processing acceleration includes a CPU, a tightly coupled memory (TCM), a buffer descriptor (BD) prefetch circuit, and a BD write back circuit. The BD prefetch circuit reads reception-end (RX) BDs from an RX BD ring of a memory to write them into an RX ring of the TCM, and reads RX header data from a buffer of the memory to write them into the RX ring. The CPU accesses the RX ring to process the RX BDs and RX header data, and generates transmission-end (TX) BDs and TX header data; afterwards, the CPU writes the TX BDs and TX header data into a TX ring of the TCM. The BD write back circuit reads the TX BDs and TX header data from the TX ring, writes the TX BDs into a TX BD ring of the memory, and writes the TX header data into the buffer.

System and method for software defined routing of traffic within and between autonomous systems with enhanced flow routing, scalability and security

An autonomous network and a corresponding routing method include determining routing paths by a controller, and providing the determined routing paths to a data packet processor located remotely from the controller. The data packet processor routes outgoing data packets, based on information from the controller, through a plurality of switches remotely from the data packet processor. Each switch includes a plurality of network interfaces. For an outgoing data packet, the data packet processor determines a network interface over which to transmit the data packet, and adds an indication of the determined network interface in a header of the data packet. The data packet processor forwards the modified data packet to the switch including the determined network interface. The switch identifies the network interface based on the indication, and transmits the outgoing data packet over the identified network interface.

Routing Rule Management Method and Communications Apparatus

A routing rule management method and a communications apparatus, where after a first user plane function network element receives, through a protocol data unit (PDU) session, a first data packet, from a terminal, whose source address is a first address, the first user plane function network element generates a first routing rule corresponding to the PDU session when determining that the first address is an unknown media access control (MAC) address, and where the first routing rule is used to forward, to the PDU session, a data packet sent to the first address. After detecting the unknown MAC address, the first user plane function network element may generate a routing rule corresponding to the unknown MAC address without involvement of a session management function network element.

SLEEP CURRENT FAILURE DETECTION

HVAC components having improved efficiency are described. In one embodiment, excessive sleep current draw in a battery-powered device having a microcontroller is detected by measuring a voltage drop across a MOSFET device coupled in a forward-conducting orientation in series between the battery and the microcontroller, causing a transistor to conduct when the voltage drop exceeds a predetermined threshold to generate a first trigger signal, integrating the first trigger signal to generate a second trigger signal, and generating an interrupt to the microcontroller. In another embodiment, a battery-saving method of operating an HVAC component includes maintaining the HVAC device in the sleep mode, receiving a user input to wake the device, transmitting a data request and returning the HVAC component to the sleep mode, waking up the HVAC device to poll an adjacent network node storing a cached response, displaying the response, and returning the HVAC device to sleep.

A method for routing a request for content from a content provider through an IPv6 network is described, the IPv6 network being an information centric network (ICN) in which content is directly addressed using at least a portion of an IPv6 address. The method includes receiving, at an IPv6 network, a request for content, determining that the request does not comprise an ICN address. The method further includes intercepting the request, and translating the request into an IPv6 address in which at least a portion of the address is directed to or associated with the piece of content. Systems and methods described herein address problems arising from the interaction between IP and ICN networking models.

This application discloses a data processing method and apparatus, and a switching device. The data processing method includes: obtaining a destination address of a data packet received by an input port; determining an available output port based on the destination address; determining a busy degree of the available output port, when there is no non-busy available output port in the available output port, determining a quantity of footprint queues on the available output port, and selecting an available output port with a largest quantity of footprint queues as a target output port; determining a busy degree of a queue on the target output port, and when there is no non-busy queue on the target output port, selecting a footprint queue on the target output port as a target output queue. In the foregoing manners, a network resource is properly used, and network blocking can be effectively alleviated.

Data plane for learning flows, collecting metadata regarding learned flows and exporting metadata regarding learned flows

Some embodiments provide a data-plane forwarding circuit that can be configured to learn about a new message flow and to maintain metadata about the new message flow without first having a control plane first configure the data plane to maintain metadata about the flow. To perform its forwarding operations, the data plane includes several data message processing stages that are configured to process the data tuples associated with the data messages received by the data plane. In some embodiments, parts of the data plane message-processing stages are also configured to operate as a flow-tracking circuit that includes (1) a flow-identifying circuit to identify message flows received by the data plane, and (2) a first set of storages to store metadata about the identified flows.

Overlay network routing using a programmable switch

The techniques discussed herein include storing a fast-path and a slow-path table in a memory associated with a programmable switch, such as a cache of the programmable switch. An offload controller may control the contents of the fast-path and/or slow-path table and may thereby control behavior of the programmable switch. The programmable may route a received packet to a gateway if the packet generates a hit in the slow-path table. If the received packet generates a hit in the fast-path table, the packet may be forwarded directly to a virtual private cloud (VPC), virtual switch thereof, and/or to a virtual machine (VM).
