A computerized system having multiple congestion control modules for determining a transmission rate for data traffic towards a destination device over a communication network, the transmission rate updated for specific time intervals, each congestion control module repeatedly collects performance-related data describing performance of content transmitted from the congestion control module to the destination device during specific time intervals, each congestion control module executes a transmission function for computing a next transmission rate for a next time interval, the transmission function receives as input performance-related data associated with prior transmission rates selected at prior time intervals, the transmission function including configurable parameters, the system also including one or more analyzers, each analyzer communicating with one or more of the multiple congestion control modules, where each analyzer periodically executes an adjusting function for reconfiguring the configurable parameters of the function for computing the next transmission rate.

STREAM ALTERATIONS UNDER LIMITED BANDWIDTH CONDITIONS

Stream alterations under limited bandwidth conditions is provided. A router on a local network continuously monitors incoming network traffic from a source external to the local network to detect that a bandwidth of the incoming network traffic exceeds a first threshold. The router sends a request to a source of the incoming network traffic to temporarily redirect the incoming network traffic to an optimization analyzer. Analysis is performed on the incoming streams to identify one or more streams for alteration. In response to identifying one or more of the incoming streams for alteration, for each identified incoming stream, continuously altering the identified incoming stream, and re-directing the altered stream to the local device.

Provided are a flow control method and device, a CU and a DU. The method includes: receiving a flow control state message transmitted by a second network element connected to a first network element through a fronthaul interface; where the flow control state message carries flow control state information for identifying a flow control state of the second network element, and where the first network element and the second network element have different functions, and performing a flow control processing according to the flow control state information and interacting the flow control state of the second network element. Further provided is a computer storage medium.

Data service overload detection and mitigation

The described technology is directed towards presenting a server overload condition that can result from a spike in client requests. Upon receiving an incoming client request for data at a server, a request buffer condition of a client request buffer (e.g., a counter) is evaluated to determine whether the client request corresponds to an anticipated overload state with respect to a request-handling capability of the server, e.g., whether the client request buffer is full. If so, an overload response (e.g., a retry response) is returned to the client indicating so that the client retries a corresponding client request after a time delay. If not in the anticipated overload state, the request is further processed, e.g., to provide a regular response containing the requested data, such as by adding a request information entry associated with the incoming client request to the client request buffer and updating the request buffer condition.

Method and device for managing an overload of a network core controlling a mobile access network

A management method is described, the management method implemented by a core network entry device. The method comprises, for at least one terminal connected to the mobile access network via an access point, following the receipt of an NAS request from the terminal, detecting whether a contention period is associated with this terminal. If not, a contention period to be applied for sending NAS requests to the network core is associated with and transmitted to the terminal. If a contention time is associated with the terminal and has not been respected by the terminal a temporary identifier allocated to the terminal for communicating with the network core is sent to the terminal via the access point, and a control message comprising at least a part of the temporary identifier is sent to the access point, the control message requiring blocking by the access point of all or part of the requests sent by a terminal which contains at least one part of the temporary identifier.

Resilient network communication using selective multipath packet flow spraying

Techniques for detecting path failures and reducing packet loss as a result of such failures are described for use within a data center or other environment. For example, a source and/or destination access node may create and/or maintain information about health and/or connectivity for a plurality of ports or paths between the source and destination device and core switches. The source access node may spray packets over a number of paths between the source access node and the destination access node. The source access node may use the information about connectivity for the paths between the source or destination access nodes and the core switches to limit the paths over which packets are sprayed. The source access node may spray packets over paths between the source access node and the destination access node that are identified as healthy, while avoiding paths that have been identified as failed.

Cooperative distributed scheduling for device-to-device (D2D) communication

In a communication system having a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices that are operating in a contention based mode for device-to-device (D2D) communication, each UE device transmits a preferred transmission indicator when a condition for preferred transmission is met at the UE device. If a UE device receives a preferred transmission indicator, the UE device delays transmission of a D2D scheduling assignment (SA) to contend for communication resources for D2D communication. The length of the delay can be based on a number of preferred transmission indicators that are received. The preferred transmission indicator is based on a buffer size in one example.
