The present invention discloses a transmission control method, apparatus and system, so as to effectively utilize network link resources. The method of the present invention includes: acquiring link status information about a network; determining recommended values of TCP transmission parameters according to the link status information; and performing TCP transmission according to the determined recommended values of the parameters. The present invention can enable TCP transmission status to reflect network congestion status more real, prevent a congestion misjudgment from occurring, and improve a utilization ratio of link resources in a network.

An edge server receives a first request message for transmission to the host device. The edge server determines a first congestion control algorithm based on the first request message, including characteristics of the first request message. The edge server applies the first congestion control algorithm to the transport connection for application to the transmission of the first request message. Subsequently, the edge server receives a second request message for transmission to the host device over the transport connection. Based on the second request message, including characteristics of the second request message, the edge server determines and applies a second congestion control algorithm to the transport connection for application to the transmission of the second request message, wherein the second congestion control algorithm is different from the first congestion control algorithm.

The present invention discloses a system and method for transmitting data packets at a network device. The network device of the system may select a first connection according to a first selection policy and select at least one second connection according to the second selection policy respectively if a data packet belonging to a new session is received. After the selection, network device may transmit each of original encapsulating packets (OEPs) through the first connection, and transmit each of at least one duplicate encapsulating packets (DEPs) through the at least one second connection within a specific period of time during a slow start stage. After the slow start stage, network device may transmit OEP only through a third connection, and no longer transmit the at least one DEP.
