Fire damper actuator system

A fire damper actuation system in an HVAC system includes a damper system and an actuator system. The damper system includes damper blades rotatable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, a crank arm assembly configured to drive the damper blades, a spring assembly configured to be held in a loaded condition when the damper blades are in the open configuration, a temperature-activated fusible link, and a fusible link arm coupling the temperature-activated fusible link to the crank arm assembly. The actuator system includes a motor and a drive device. The drive device is coupled to the crank arm assembly and the temperature-activated fusible link. Operation of the drive device by the motor between a first end stop location and a second end stop location simultaneously rotates the crank arm assembly and the temperature-activated fusible link to complete a test inspection procedure.

A fire damper including a frame and a plurality of blades rotatably mounted to the frame such that each blade is rotatable about a respective rotational axis between an open rotational position and a closed rotational position, each blade including at least one substantially planar portion; and a side edge portion which is curved away from a plane of the substantially planar portion, wherein a first curved side edge portion of a first of the blades is adapted to engage a second curved side edge portion of a second of the blades, adjacent the first, when the blades are in the closed position; and wherein the first curved side edge portion curves in an opposite direction to the second curved side edge portion when the first and second blades are engaged.

ADJUSTABLE CAM ASSEMBLY FOR DAMPER POSITION FEEDBACK

A cam assembly for selectively contacting an end-of-stroke damper position switch. The cam assembly includes a first cam that is rotatable about a first axis, and a position lever that is connected to and rotates with the cam assembly. The position lever is configured to be connected to an opening and closing mechanism of the damper and the cam assembly is adjustable to contact a first end-of-stroke damper position switch at the end-of-stroke of the opening and closing mechanism of the damper regardless of the position of the lever.

THERMAL SENSOR RESET ROD FOR THERMAL SENSOR

A resetting element for transmitting resetting force to a thermal switch. The resetting element includes a first end and an elastic element configured to transmit a force received at the first end to the reset switch of the thermal switch, wherein the elastic element is prevents damage to the thermal switch by decreasing the force transmitted to the reset switch from the first end.

The system may include an automated control system operably configured to cause a change in state of the blind from a retracted state to a protective deployed state, which may include a sensing system operably configured to detect a threatening event, wherein the sensing system upon sensing the threatening event triggers the blind to transition from the retracted state to the deployed protective state such that in the protective state, the blinds are adapted to be resistant to penetration by high-speed ballistic objects such as bullets.

The panel silencer includes a number of panels joined together to form an internal cavity and a front panel opening that provides access into the internal cavity. The fire damper assembly partially inserts into the panel silencer. The fire damper assembly includes a plurality of isolation louvers and an actuation assembly. The plurality of isolation louvers are rotatably affixed within the fire damper assembly. The actuation assembly rotates the plurality of isolation louvers into a closed position when activated.

The damper switch configured to open/close a plurality of blades of a damper according to the present invention includes a rotating part mounted on a damper shaft of the damper and rotated together with the damper shaft, a driving part configured to provide a power for rotating the rotating part, and a controller configured to measure a load applied to the driving part when the blades are closed, and interrupt an electric power supplied to the driving part when the measured load is not less than a predetermined value.

There is provided a fire collar comprising a casing defining a service conduit passage therethrough, the casing having an activation side and an installation side, wherein the casing defines an activation side located activation chamber. The fire collar has an opposing pair of shutters located within the activation chamber defining operative leading edges. In use, the shutters are configurable in a non-activated configuration wherein the leading edges are spaced apart so as to make allowance for the service conduit therebetween and when the fire collar is exposed to heat on the activation side in use, the shutters transition to an activated configuration wherein the respective leading edges of the shutters close in the passage.
