Dynamic service insertion in a fabric switch

One embodiment of the present invention provides a switch. The switch includes a service management module and a packet processor. During operation, the service management module identifies a service provided by an appliance coupled to the switch via a local port. The packet processor constructs a notification message for a remote switch. The notification message includes information about the service and the appliance. In this way, the switch allows the remote switch to request the service.

Coordinated channel switch timing and transmissions in neighborhood awareness networks

This disclosure describes methods, devices, and systems related to coordinating channel switch times and specifying device operation (for example, transmitting device operation) to ensure data reception by one or more devices (for example, receiving devices). A device may receive a data path setup request frame from a second device. The device may cause to send a data path setup response frame. The device may cause to establish a communication with the second device on a first channel. The device may cause to establish a communication with the second device on a second channel at a first time. The device may cause to wait, by the device, at least for a duration specified by a channel switch time (CST) parameter. The device may cause to send device data to the second device over the first channel or the second channel based at least in part on the CST parameter.

The present subject matter relates to methods, circuitry and equipment providing a multi-functional, cost effective, media independent, open platform for communication services using differential signaling interfaces. The methods, circuitry and equipment comprise a plurality of input amplifiers, output amplifiers, and multiplexer switches or resistive dividers, which provide the ability to monitor, provide service protection switching, provide redundant services, provide on-demand service, provide service upgrades, security, test, and troubleshoot any communication devices and services.

Open communication method in a heterogeneous network

An open communication method between at least two sub-networks using a broker node. Each of the sub-networks has a different routable network addressing scheme. The method comprises receiving a packet for a specific application, the packet includes an application identifier, determining if the packet is to be relayed to another of the at least two sub-network based upon the application identifier, determining if a node receiving the packet is a broker node, relaying the packet to a broker node if not a broker node and forwarding, by the broker node, the packet to at least one node in another of the at least two sub-network. The node generating the packet is configured to communicate using a first of the at least two sub-networks. A broker node is configured for communicating using at least two of the at least two sub-network via a corresponding routable network addressing schemes for each of the sub-networks.

Logic may store at least a portion of an incoming packet at a memory location in a host device in response to a communication from the host device. Logic may compare the incoming packet to a digest in an entry of a primary array. When the incoming packet matches the digest, logic may retrieve a full entry from the secondary array and compare the full entry with the first incoming packet. When the full entry matches the first incoming packet, logic may store at least a portion of the first incoming packet at the memory location. And, in the absence of a match between the first incoming packet and the digest or full entry, logic may compare the first incoming packet to subsequent entries in the primary array to identify a full entry in the secondary array that matches the first incoming packet.

Techniques for handling message queues
11456971 · 2022-09-27 · ·

Techniques are disclosed relating to handling queues. A server-based platform, in some embodiments, accesses queue information that includes performance attributes for a plurality of queues storing one or more messages corresponding to one or more applications. In some embodiments, the platform assigns, based on the performance attributes, a corresponding set of the plurality of queues to each of a plurality of processing nodes of the platform. In some embodiments, the assigning of a corresponding set of queues to a given one of the plurality of processing nodes causes instantiation of: a first set of one or more dequeuing threads and a second set of one or more processing threads. The dequeuing threads may be executable to dequeue one or more messages stored in the corresponding set of queues. The processing threads may be executable to perform one or more tasks specified in the dequeued one or more messages.

IP-address distribution system utilizing a plurality of switching devices grouped into two or more groups

An IP-address distribution system according to the present invention includes a network formed by a plurality of switching devices, and a plurality of IP-address distribution devices connected to the network, wherein the switching devices are grouped into two or more groups, and the switching devices interrupt an IP-address request signal transmitted from a terminal that requests allocation of an IP address at a physical port to which a switching device in another group is connected.

Intermediate network node providing a service to a mobile terminal in a wireless communications network

A method and intermediate network node provide a service requested by a mobile terminal in a wireless communications network. The intermediate network node has a processing unit and a memory containing instructions executable by the processing unit. The intermediate network node receives a first request for a service from the mobile terminal, and receives application software configured to be executed at the intermediate network node to provide the mobile terminal with at least part of the requested service. The intermediate network node provides the mobile terminal with the at least part of the requested service. A subsequent request related to the service of the mobile terminal terminates at the intermediate network node, and provides the mobile terminal with at least part of the service requested in the subsequent request on behalf of a provider of the service.
