ACTUATOR WITH FAIL-SAFE LOCKING MECHANISM
An actuator is usable in a damping system, which may be a component of an airside system, waterside system, building management system, or HVAC system. The actuator is coupled to a damper and may open and close the damper. The damper selectively seals a duct to prevent spreading of gas, smoke, or fire within a building. The actuator includes a gear that rotates as the damper is opened and closed. A cluster pinion is coupled to the gear and rotates with the gear. A locker is rotatably coupled to a stopper and has a range of motion limited by the stopper. The stopper includes a rib extending outwardly and limiting the range of motion of the locker. The rib is configured to deform at a temperature exceeding a threshold. A spring is coupled to the locker and biasing the locker against the rib.
CONTROLLABLE DUCT SYSTEM FOR MULTI-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL
A smart duct comprises an inlet, an outlet, a damper positioned between the inlet and the outlet, an electromechanical actuator configured to open and close the damper, and a controller configured to operate the electromechanical actuator and retrieve measurements from the sensor and to receive instructions from a central HVAC controller via a communication channel.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MULTI-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL
An intelligent air management system comprises an HVAC unit, a smart duct comprising an electromechanically actuated damper, a power supply connected to the smart duct, a controller communicatively connected to the smart duct and at least one room sensor positioned in a room, and a vent fluidly connected to the smart duct and positioned in the room, wherein the controller is configured to open and close the electromechanically actuated damper in response to measurements from the at least one room sensor. A method of controlling room temperature in a multi-room structure is also described.
Fire door system for conveyor
In one or more arrangements, a system is presented for preventing the spread of fire through a conveyor opening in a fire wall. In one or more arrangements, a fire door system is connected to the fire wall and/or conveyor proximate to the conveyor opening. The fire door system includes a door assembly, a door frame assembly, and an actuator. The door frame assembly is connected to the fire wall, covers portions of the opening below the conveyor and between belts of the conveyor, and forms a door opening above the conveyor. The door assembly is configured to move between a closed position, where door assembly covers the door opening, and an open position, where the door assembly at least partially uncovers the door opening. The actuator is configured to cause the door to be moved to the closed position in response to fire.
SELECTIVELY CLOSABLE HINGE
There is a temperature activated spring hinge comprising hinge section comprising at least one door leaf and at least one hinge leaf. There is also a fuse which is configured to react in response to an elevated temperature. The fuse can be positioned inside one of the knuckles of the door leaf. There is also a biasing element configured to bias the hinge in a closed position. In at least one embodiment the biasing element is a spring. There is also at least one guide configured to guide a movement of the hinge when the hinge moves from an open position to a closed position.
FIREPROOF SHUTTER
Disclosed is a fireproof shutter for opening and closing a passage between an upper story and a lower story. The fireproof shutter includes a base panel having an opening corresponding to the passage, a door for opening and closing the opening, and a guide unit for guiding the door between an open position in which the door is opened and a closed position in which the door is closed and having a predetermined inclination such that the door is closed by its own weight.
Smoke or fire barrier
The present invention relates to a smoke or fire barrier for closing an opening in a building, the barrier including: a curtain for closing the opening; means arrangeable at a head of the opening for deploying the curtain and for retracting the curtain; guide means at sides of the opening for retaining edges of the curtain after deployment and for reducing flow of smoke past the edges of the curtain, the guide means including: a pair of jaws for holding the edges of the deployed curtain, at least one of the jaws being movable towards the other and means for moving the or each movable jaw after deployment of the curtain.
CEILING PANEL
There is provided a ceiling panel for a pod room. The ceiling panel comprises one or more cover components movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration; and an actuation mechanism configured to move the one or more cover components from the closed configuration to the open configuration in response to a trigger. The ceiling panel may provide a specified percentage open area in the open configuration. The ceiling panel may be adapted to acoustically insulate the pod room in the closed configuration.
